How often do you change ejuice? My favorite has lost it's flavor!

Howdy All,

I have a dozen or so ejuice's now that I like but my favorite seems to have lost its flavor. I'm starting to wonder if I've 'burnt out' the chemicals on my tongue needed to process the flavor I vape most of the day. I've always drank a lot of water and when I'm vaping I drink lots of water or other beerter beverages to stay hydrated.

Has anyone else had such an experience and if so, how long do you recommend I lay off my favorite ejuice?

Lost in flavorless land,
Mike

Answer may depend on how long you have been vaping. My tastes started changing after about 1-2 months. For me everything started tasting bad. Some on ECF have reported that they seem to lose their sense of taste for awhile...I think they call it vapors tongue. I think in the early months you can expect almost anything from no taste to OMG that's awful.

Vaping strong flavors and chain vaping can bring on vaper's tongue. Time is the only true remedy. Sometimes our taste preferences just do a switcheroo for no apparent reason. Sometimes we can't taste anything after just a few vapes. For the former, change flavors. For the latter, vape less frequently and don't waste your tired pallet on your favorite juice. Taste is a strange thing. My all-day-vapes from two months ago don't get touched any more, and the flavors I swore I would never get into are my new favorites now. You just have to go with the flow. Your tasters will come back. It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks but not longer.

I put a few flavors to the testing tank every day and sometimes even end up mixing them. I always fall back on my favorites the rest of the day though. "Peaches & Cream" by Jameson's which sometimes loses its flavor after a while but I fall in love again as soon as I can taste it. I usually rotate from sweet dessert flavors to fruity with intermittent menthol excursions. Peaches & Cream tend to be my bridge flavor. I'm sure at some point I'll have a flavor for every mood.

They should make a ginger strip that dissolves like the Listerine strips. Similar to the idea behind why they serve ginger with sushi. Or a cinnamon. Cleanse the palate. I keep three liquids in rotation daily to switch up when I no longer am tasting one. Bobas is the only one that is always in rotation so far.

If your main vape is tobacco or desert-type flavors and they go flat after a while, have a carto or clearo of some "citrus-y" type juice available and use that for a few minutes. When my taste-buds start going south, I drip some pineapple or pear e-juice for a while, & it usually brings back the flavors of the other juices....but sometimes that doesn't help either. It seems to happen more often to me if I'm vaping 100% VG...they seem to coat my tongue after a while.

You have to take a break once in a while to give yourself some recovery time.... back when I was smoking cigarettes, they did the same thing. When I was chain smoking, the cigs didn't really have any flavor after two or three, I was just using them to pump nicotine....

I drip, so I change flavors about every hour.
Swap the bottle in my REO (work/car vape) every time I swap the battery (every day or two).

Biotene is good, always brush your teeth when you wake up or after a particularly flavorful meal (garlic bread + vape = ew), and don't stop drinking water.

If I'm having "vapor tongue" I usually swap to a powerful citrus flavor or vape straight "ice" (menthol) - the acid of the citrus I can ALWAYS taste and I can always "feel" the coldness of the menthol. If you're not into the super intense ecto/orange/lemon flavors, Vape Goddess is about to release a juice (I got a pre-release sample) called "Fierce" which is a really nice tangerine menthol. Not as much "mouth hurt" as some stronger citrus juices, just the right amount of "zest" flavor, and the menthol is really subtle and cool. I've been vaping it for a couple nights now, and I have super-juice-ADD.
