Hmm. I am using an EVOD head that I have been using since June 3rd. I just take it apart, dry burn, and soak in Vodka for 15 minutes, then rinse about once every 7-10 days and it's like new again. This is a factory head using whatever wire and wick it came with and is my all day every day device....for now. Maybe I just got lucky since this is my first and only EVOD but dang I am impressed with longevity so far.

Where did this cone from? Lol.

He is talking about stainless steel mesh, in a rba. The kanger coils are silica. Much different ballgame.

Good advice, wrong thread lol.

Sorry posting when tired can lead to mistakes. My comment was more me thinking aloud about Thrasher's post about getting 1 month out of SS wick. I had always assumed that SS would last longer than silica.

mine normally last until i feel like toying with em and doing a rebuild just to try something out build wise. last one went 3 months. on a real cobra if it matters. once u notice the flavor start to taper off; do a dry burn before the next refill and generally its back to new like. most of mine last a pretty long time. its also my all day setup and pretty much the only thing a vape off. i usually burn a full cobra 3 ml tank and half per day through it. so i think thats pretty decent mileage. current one is a 4/5 wrap of i believe 28 kanthal @ 1.2 on provari running 3.9 volts. been running for a month or so. might be 30 kanthal...dam bag isnt labeled and i forget what i ordered but its way thicker then my 33 kanthal.

I've had 500 SS Mesh wicks last 2 months. I dont dry burn often. I dry burn maybe after every 3 refills. You will get flavor creep if you dont dry burn, But i've noticed if you dry burn after every refill, it will degrade your wick faster.

I don't use a ton of flavors in my genesis, maybe about 3 of my flavors I use in my RSST. Some flavors I've found don't taste as good on a SS Mesh wick, Boba's bounty is one of them. Apple Jax by Epic Juice is another. Boba's Bounty/Apple Jax tastes amazing with an RDA/Clearomizer using normal wicks / silica/cotton. But the flavor doesn't taste as good to me. Apple Jax specifically is in my opinion, one of the tastiest juices through a dripping atomizer running low resistances - it does so well with dual coils .4ohms, it's amazing. It also has the most flavor variance when switching atomizer styles, tastes different through an RDA/RBA/RTA/Clearomizer/Carto - each device will make it taste very different. An amazing juice... if you haven't tried apple jax through an RDA w/ silica/cotton wicks, trust me, try it.

The flavors that taste amazing through a SS Mesh wick to me are:

1.) Zombie Apocalypse - Alice in Vapeland
2.) B&W Cookie - Alice in Vapeland
3.)Airheadz - Epic Juice
4.)Forbidden Fruit - Jameson's
5.)Cupcake City - Alice in Vapeland
6.)Mount and Dew Me - Lush Vapor
7.)Moon Sugar - Mr. Good Vape
8.)Peaches n Cream - Jameson's

im not sure if my original SS mesh wick will ever wear out! seriously. this thing has been pumping out amazing flavor since around Thanksgiving of last year. all i do is dry burn occasionally. it needs a dry burn maybe once every 10ml, if that. i keep telling myself i'll rebuild it but i havent yet found any reason to- the flavor hasnt dropped one iota.

another genny of mine has been running the same wick since about january. same thing- showing absolutely zero signs of letting up. the juice i use in this genny however gunks up the coil much quicker. i get about 5ml through this one before i dry burn.

those are my two heavily oxidized builds. since then, ive tried unoxidized / lightly oxidized and although they dont taste as good as the other wicks, these wicks i'll probably pass down to my future grandchildren LOL. thats how long i expect them to last due to the retained strength from not heavily oxidizing them.
