Has anyone built a homemade Mechmod? I've heard if people building mechs out of old flashlights or just going to HomeDepot and getting some copper tubing and building a mod. I have an old Kangertech EMOW that the battery went on and I was thinking about trying to build my own mod. I know it's possible but just looking for tips/suggestions/someone who has done it to guide me a bit.

Thanks,
Syn

I have made one with a parts kit. It is a bottom fed, 3D printed shell, and love it!

Obviously the one on the left lol. If you are interested, I can point you in the right direction!

Yeah I'm definitely interested. I can get a box 3D printed. Other than that how much did you spend? Have you ever looked to see what the voltage drop is? What batteries do you use? Etc. I'm here to learn lol

The parts kits are now online instead of group buy for ~$30. The shell and 3D parts are from sculpteo for ~$60 with shipping, but they just started a economy 30% off plan if you don't mind waiting on your stuff. The unit is called a Peko, and we have a dedicated thread and a picture thread as well. A few people have checked v-drop and have found little at all. As long as it is assembled well, its good. Some have even taken to soldering certain areas, though I don't know how to solder...yet lol. It takes an 18650 flat top, but they did just release a 26650 version too!
