I was just sitting here, and my istick 50w just fired by itself. It wont' fire now at all. It won't even turn off. i can see the battery power and its like its stuck on "im plugged in mode". When i did plug it in it still doesn't fire and while i was changing the automizer to see it fired by itself again full 10 sec and i couldn't do anything about it.

has anyone else experienced this?

this all suck!
i have to ship it back, more money!

nothing i can do to fix the connection once its blown eh!?!

so to avoid this happening again is to never get liquid in that connection...wow what a challenge, sometime the subtank leaks...

maybe i should get a different MOD where this wont happen or chances will be lessened ? any suggestions?

Are the subtank airflow bases similarly designed like the protank/aerotank controllers where a leaking liquid won't make it to the connection, only into the airflow base? I don't have one (yet) so I honestly don't know. If they are, it wasn't a liquid leak that caused the problem.

Seeing more and more of these issues really makes me doubt Eleaf's QC. I know many have not had any problems with theirs, but enough of these throw up a caution sign to me. An MVP 30 is only a few dollars more but they're build like a small armored vehicle.

That kind of problem is one of the big reasons for having a replaceable battery mod.

With the istick, as with an ego battery, when something like that happens you can't just pop it open and remove the battery.
As for shipping it back for a refund: have you thought about the question of shipping it when you can't seem to turn it off ?

Not to add to your frustration,
keeping the 510 connector clean & dry should be considered normal routine maintenance, even if that means checking & drying multiple times per day. APV's with unsealed / spring loaded positive pins allow leaked liquids to drain down into the electronic components.

I am unaware of any manufacturer that warrants APV's damaged by moisture / leaked liquids.
May be the vendor will, sure won't hurt to ask.

The Subtank has a spring loaded pin, so if enough juice leaks into the air control base, it will leak out through the 510 connector. I had that happen to me once, and that was because I overprimed the coil and it leaked through the bottom of the coil into the air control base. One or two drops of liquid leaked out through the 510 connector. Luckily I noticed it in time and cleaned it out quickly.

:thumb: I've heard as high as a 20% failure rate for ISticks.

I'll also recommend an Innokin MVP. Innokin has been around a long time and makes good mods. I still have an perfectly fine original MVP in a drawer somewhere.

its hard to beat an innokin mvp... they dont have crazy high watts.. although you can now get 20 and 30 watts mvps...

here is a sweet deal on a 20 watter...

    http://www.vaporbeast.com/innokin-itaste-mvp-20-watt.html

29.95 and if you use the code: YEAHBABY
    it goes down to 26.95.

probably the best bang for you buck currently.
