Looking to buy another mech mod! Huge into collecting and am relatively new to the collecting.

I have a copper MCV raptor with silver contacts, VCM, sir Lancelot, brass rig v2 and a brass limitless. Love them but looking for a mech tube that will hit hard and look amazing. A few that I've looked at have been the gold v3 flip, subzero comp mod, praxis and Kennedy ruby.

I love the looks of the v3 flip but have heard its "not all that". As for the other mods I've heard they all hit pretty hard, the praxis is never in stock. Ruby kinda sucks because it only uses the Kennedy rda (which is an awesome rda but I want to be Able to vape other builds without having to build on just the Kennedy deck)

I'm not looking for a series tube but something that can handle super sub ohm builds without heating up or getting a hot button.

Thanks in advanced!

doesn't the ruby take a 510 thread like everything else?

I was looking for the same (high-end tube mech) over these past few weeks. I was leaning towards the Legendary Subzero Competition (Black Cerakoted Copper) until I noticed that the clutch contact was held together by an o-ring. I eventually decided on the MCV Overdose V2 + 2JNT silver negative contact until I realized that I did not want another tube mech. I am now on the hunt for an unregulated serial box mod.

It's a hybrid.

the atty is part of the battery tube, don't think that counts as a hybrid, does it?

Yes, it is hybrid. But saying 'it only uses the kennedy' I can't see as being correct. It IS a kennedy. As has been stated, the deck and tube are milled together from 1 piece. That was supposed to be part of the appeal. Milled together, minimal voltage drop.

You misunderstand what a hybrid is, and misquoted what I said.

It doesn't use a Kennedy.
You can't attach a Kennedy to it.

It has a dedicated atomizer.
Hybrid device.

This is also a hybrid device with a non-removeable atomizer exactly like the ruby.

#1 I DO know what a hybrid is.
#2 I did not at any point quote you.
Not sure why you're taking this personal and attempting to insult me. I agreed with what you said. :sneaky: I was attempting to clarify for anyone who was confused about it. I e spoken to several people who didn't realize it was milled as one and thought, for some reason, only the Kennedy could be used.

hy·brid
ˈhīˌbrid/
noun
  1. 1.
    BIOLOGY
the offspring of two plants or animals of different species or varieties, such as a mule (a hybrid of a donkey and a horse).
"a hybrid of wheat and rye"
    synonyms: cross, cross-breed, mixed breed,half-breed, half-blood;More

  2. 2.
a thing made by combining two different elements; a mixture.
"the final text is a hybrid of the stage play and the film"
Hybrid mech refers to definition 2. ie tube and atty in 1. But, thank you for your clarification on what I already knew.
The hybrid with a 510 is NOT a true hybrid.

I've been tempted lately to pull the trigger on a wooden sleeved Ebony Jinamod, Made in Korea. My buddy had a Jinamod "Fairy", but ruined the lock ring after a hard concrete drop. It looks better in person and felt very nice in the hand.

Price here seems too good to be true for an authentic, so I question whether it's a clone... not that I get hung up on that. Ohm's law doesn't care either way.

I don't have any experience with this vendor, but maybe someone else does: Ebony Wooden Mod by JINAMOD Ver 2

Geez relax. It's just the internet.
I thought it was a regular MOD too, until I was told in this thread and I took a closer look.

Then I saw it was, in fact a hybrid.

I was just trying to clarify because using the wrong terminology when advising vape gear can get people hurt.
Example: Some people think SMPLs are hybrids. They are not. They have a "hybrid look".

True hybrids like the Rose and Valkyrie are probably the safest of mechanical mods. You can't put the "wrong" atomizer on them.

Using proper terminology helps people understand their gear and let's people make safe choices.

There are quite a few amazing mechs in the classifieds for less than half of what they sell for. Anything by GP, GUS, MCR, is a good purchase. These are my favorites but there are also many others. Just look them up, go on youtube and see what others here have posted about them to make sure it fits your needs.

I have an sxk praxis clone. I love it and if my budget would allow I'd buy the authentic in a heartbeat. The switch can't get accidentally triggered in your pocket and the switch and contact being milled from a single piece of metal definitely helps keep the mods internal resistance low. The lowest I'll build for a single 18650 is .14. I feel I can probably go lower if I wanted as the switch doesn't even get warm and my vtc4c's seem to be just a few degrees above ambient temperature even when I'm chain vaping. Personally, with the switch design on the praxis I would worry less about building below CDR than I would with any other single cell tube just because I know that it can't get accidentally triggered and stay firing. That being said, battery life on a single cell at that resistance sucks and I have parallel box mods, so I don't build that low for a single cell mech.
My everyday ADV coil build is a .2 ohm 26 gauge gplat dual coil. The only shortcoming the sxk praxis clone has is the brass contact isn't rhodium plated so low resistance builds require a lot more contact maintenance.

WTF are you even talking about dude? Crap like this is the reason I quit coming here to begin with. You are trying to correct me on something I'm right about and even agreed with you on. I never thought it was a regular tube. I knew what it was to begin with. So what exactly are you trying to prove here?
