Hemp Wicking instead of Cotton?

I read on another forum about people opting for hemp fiber in their wicking builds instead of cotton. Supposedly more organic. Has anyone tried this?

In his video where Pbusardo tested a buncha different wicking materials (organic cotton, Japanese cotton, rayon, and hemp), hemp did pretty poorly when compared to the cottons/rayon. It theoretically could work as a wicking material, but it isn't nearly as effective as other, more commonly used, alternatives.

2/3 years ago, most people I know who used hemp were using it as a replacement for silica.

Exactly the video I was thinking of. It didn't do as bad as cotton in the burn test, but poorly as a wick.

how can hemp be more organic than cotton.... they are both plant fiber ??

I have used degummed hemp fiber for both my R91's and Taifun's with vertical coils and it wicks just fine, and it doesnt burn like cotton.
I have yet to compare it to rayon, but it works so good for the last year and a half i do not need anything else.
