Hello To everyone

My wife an I started our E-cig experience a while back and we started out with the Halo Triton's and our E-juice was Halo's Menthol Ice which is my E-juice choice and my wife's is Menthol Sub Zero.Well I started Diying our own E-juice as well and am attempting to diy my Menthol Ice. I got the wife's Sub zero real darn close and she is really pleased with her diy version I made.. I am using the E-juice me up Calculator to create our E-juice's..Well I am getting close with my Menthol Ice version but its still not right as to being close to Halo's Menthol Ice. I read somewhere that someone said it had Horehound in it but not sure about that. My current recipe contains the following.

I am making a 15ml batch
My base is
100% PG 100mg Nic

My Nic Level is

20mg

My Ratio is
PG 50%
VG 50%

Nicotine Ejuice
3ml

PG
3.9ml

VG
6.9ml

Flavoring
Peppermint 0.3ml
Menthol 0.3ml
Kollada 0.3ml
Sweetener 0.3ml

I know Halo Menthol Ice has a reddish color or tint to the mix so I am not sure if there is something else I am leaving out or what, My final mix is Clear and the Vape taste is close but not yet there. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

I have never tried halo but my adv is a menthol ice

I use
10% koolada and 7 % menthol
I make my own menthol it is 1/2 tbs crushed menthol to 10mls pg, It's close to a 10%

For a change of pace, I will lower the koolada to 7%
and add a peppermint or wintergreen at 1-2%

Flavor west extreme ice is also a nice flavor that I like to use for a change of pace - I use it at 10-14%
It's a peppermint ice

I was reading your post, and can't help but ask if you would mind sharing your recipe for subzero. My hubby and I have been trying like crazy to make it for his Mother (sigh) and we are NOT close--not according to her anyway. could you give me some tips? ~thanks

I'd like your recipe for SubZero, also, if you would care to share it. I never smoked menthols, but was looking for something different than my usual tobacco flavors and tried some SubZero at my local B&M and found I really like it. But at $20 an ounce, I thought I should be able to make something pretty close.

Sorry, I can't help with the Halo Menthol Ice since I've never tasted it, but I've tried some of the "menthol ice" recipes here and one in the ejuicemeup calculator that are pretty good, but none of them are quite like SubZero. My taste buds aren't good enough to know what they need to bring them in line. :) More Koolada, more Menthol, some mint flavor, horehound? I just can't tell.

Thanks,

Dave

I have been hunting for great minty recipes as well...I have read numerous times that horehound is the missing link but i have had no luck making a decent batch...I am trying for something close to liquidxpress cool rush.

Hmm... What's this liquidexpress cool rush? Anything like Halo SubZero?

I am fairly new to vaping and DYI but am a menthol/mint junkie. My very first vape was Eliq Cubes' "Frozen Tundra" and I was hooked.
I have been trying to clone it without success but have made some good juice. I think menthol/mint/cool flavors are pretty forgivable when mixing. They are similar and all mix well with one another. I can vape the Frozen Tundra at 18ml but when I DYI a mix, 18ml gives me too much nic throat hit, even it I jack up the flavor %, so I have to back it down to 12ml. (I can't figure this out yet) Below is a mix I am really liking- I think the peppermint could be interchanged with spearmint, wintergreen, horhound or cinnamon but the creme de menthe really adds to the flavor and mellows it out.
50/50 vg-pg all TFA flavors
peppermint 8%
menthol 4%
koolada 4%
creme de menthe 4%
EM 1%

I think you're right, backitdown, the minty/menthol flavors seem a lot more forgiving than the tobacco flavors I tried as my first DYI projects.

Thanks for your recipe, I made something similar from a thread here that used peppermint, menthol, koolada, and EM, but no crème de menthe. I'll try it.

And I just realized that I've kind of hijacked this thread, so I apologize and will move on. Hopefully someone can help the original poster with the Halo Menthol Ice recipe.
