I have been vaping exclusively for a few weeks now and I still have not found a juice that I can really taste, it just seems very weak or if I can taste, its awful. Also I don't get the throat hit people talk about either. I have done so much reading on this forum and I think I'm missing out on something, everyone seems to have their favorite juice and can vape on it all day. (I'm jealous I want that!) I'm lucky if I don't switch between 8-10 different flavor juices a day. It seems like I put menthol in everything just so I get something out of the vape. Is it me or the type of juices I've picked out. I have bought 20 some odd flavors of juice from Mt. Baker and to me none of them are that good I even messed around with the PG/VG percentages. The list is as follows with the PG/VG percentages and (my flavor, opinion of the juice): Afternoon Delight 80/20 (weak, small amount of flavor), Wild Cherry 50/50 (small amount of flavor, chemical taste), Peach tobacco 65/35 (small amount of peach flavor, no tobacco taste), Creme de Menthe 80/20 (mild minty taste), Peach 80/20 (mild peach taste), Sour Yum 80/20 (I taste something but don't know what, not sour), Rum Tobacco 80/20 (very mild), Salted Caramel 80/20 (chemical taste), Cheesecake 80/20 (? cinnamon maybe), 555 80/20 (The worst tasting stuff ever!), Cola 50/50 (Terrible chemical taste), Pina Colada 50/50 (very mild pineapple taste), Menthol 65/35 (The best juice of them all, except I realized 3/4 of the bottle later, not to vape straight). I have bought 6 different juices from another company and they are very mild tasting as well. I need any and all answers, what I can try, what I need to do, what to do for a throat hit, etc. So sorry for the long post but I thought I needed to give you the full picture. Thanks for all your help. ;)

What kind of equipment are you using? If you're fairly new to vaping and just got off the smokes, your taste buds may need time to readjust. Also, you should let those juices steep if you haven't had them for that long... leave it out with the caps off, shake it occasionally, and try it again in a few days or weeks, the longer the better. You could try adding flavor shots if you order from MBV again. Whatever you are vaping it out of can affect it too, some tanks/clearos can mute the flavor of the juice.

I'm pretty new myself, but will share my experience. First I don't know what kind of device you are using to vape. A lot of folks seem to think that makes a big difference in the flavor and throat hit. I use a pretty simple beginner starter kit, an ego battery and a clearo topper. It's working pretty well for me and is simple to use.

I smoked for over 40 years at a couple of packs a day, so I was prepared for my taste buds to be practically non-existent. I really didn't expect to "taste" a whole lot because of that. At first, the taste was really mild with all flavors of juices, and I didn't get the throat hit, either.

You didn't say what mg of nicotine you are using in your juice. I first started with 12 mg nicotine juice, which was recommended to me at the vape shop where I got my starter kit. After reading quite a bit here, I went back and got 18 mg. Just doing that made a big difference in how the juices tasted, and I also could feel it in my throat, more like a cigarette. Also, on the 12 mg juice I didn't have "cravings" really, and didn't want to smoke, but felt a vague, anxious feeling. That totally disappeared with the 18 mg juice.

In fact, I think the next juice I order I will bump up to 24 mg and see how that goes. I'm pretty happy with the 18 mg, but vape pretty much continuously all day long (I'm retired and at home all day.) Maybe the 24 mg will be more satisfying and I won't have to vape constantly. We will see.

Back to the flavor issue. I can "taste" the flavors of some better than others, but nothing is really what I would call a "big bang" in the flavor department. So far I am liking a Cinnamon Roll and also a Butterscotch that I got at Mt. Baker Vapor. It is pleasant and I can taste it, but certainly not like sucking on a butterscotch candy or eating a cinnamon roll, lol.

I have read so much about taste buds changing, coming back, and leaving again in this process of quitting a lifelong habit of smoking cigarettes. I am inclined to be patient about the taste, and I'm sure it will change as time goes on.

Hope this helps you a little, and that you find a satisfying juice soon. I generally try to keep my expectations low when I'm doing anything new, and vaping is certainly new to me!

Thanks for trying to help me. The equipment i'm using is an eGo C twist 1100 mah battery with a ce5 clearomizer. I have also dripped using a boge 510 cartomizer. As for steeping the juices, its been about 3 weeks now. The juices have improved, but not enough to really taste the flavor as I would like. I did notice a lot of the reviews in this forum for MBV add extra shots. What exactly is that? I've also read here on the forum that adding extra shots will mute the flavor. So is not enough flavor the same as to much flavor? I just noticed your from Atlanta, have you started to recover yet? That storm hit us hard too, we still have about 2 1/2 inches of snow left on the ground. Thank goodness the sun is out and starting to melt this mess. Thanks again for your help, anything else you can think of would be greatly appreciated.

Are you drinking enough water? Hydration is KEY in getting good vape. Without it you'll lose taste, nothing will have taste or it'll taste bad, it's called vapor's mouth. You'll need to drink alot of water, more than you ever did before. This will help tremendously. You are exactly at the point in vaping where it seems to occur with almost everyone. It occurred with me too and it does come back, but know it's temporary. I haven't had it since I started drinking water. Good luck and Happy Vaping!

Wow, your story is so similar to mine. I was a smoker for 25 years, with a 1 1/2 to 2 pack a day habit. I'm vaping with an Ego C twist battery and a ce5 clearomizer. In the nicotine department I got a mixture of strengths, anywhere from 6 to 18mg. I'm like you I vape continuously, I don't have a craving to smoke either, but I feel like something is missing. I hope I will get some good recommendations for a high flavor vape, then I will probably order the higher nicotine level as you suggested. This not tasting of my juice is so weird for me, everything else I have a very keen sense of taste. Probably the only thing smoking didn't kill! Oh well, the most important thing is, we are still smoke free. Thank you for all your help. :)

Hmm, your juices certainly have had a pretty decent steep time. I would definitely recommend higher nicotine for future orders, especially if your juice is lacking the throat hit that you might be used to with smoking. You could try some different vendors and yes, definitely add more flavor shots if you order from MBV again. Some people prefer a more subtle taste but I like my juice with a lot of flavor. If it's too flavorful, you can always dilute it with some unflavored PG or VG. Perhaps you can try buying some dripping atomizers as opposed to cartomizers. They are not as travel friendly as clearo tanks but they do give a lot of flavor and useful for taste testing new juice without having to fill up an entire tank. Make a habit of brushing your tongue as well whenever you brush your teeth. You can try Good Life Vapors, I thought all of their juices were very flavorful. As for atomizers, Empire Mods sell some for a pretty affordable price, but if you're looking for something a little better, Vapage and Avid Vaper have great atomizers as well. Your equipment seems fine but you could try some different clearos as well. Chances are, you will have to shop around and try out a bunch of stuff before you find what personally works for you best. I've been vaping for about 3.5 years now, but I am a pretty light vaper, and a light smoker as well when I was smoking. My main device is the iTaste VV3 (which you can find on ebay for about $30), and I really like the iClear 16 clearos for when I'm on the go. At home, I primarily drip, using Vapage and Avid Vaper atomizers. Definitely look into that if you need flavor, at least to hold you over until you find something that works better for you.

As for the snow... gawwwdd... so glad I did not get stuck in that mess! I know everyone is laughing at the south for freaking out about the snow but our cities were definitely not prepared for it. Those 2 inches of measly snow quickly turns into dangerous black ice. Luckily I didn't go anywhere so I just shacked up at home, watching the chaos on the news channel. Snow is melting nice and I was able to do some grocery shopping yesterday, so that was nice. But for 2 nights, we ate a lot of crap at the house since I didn't really have anything to cook a meal with. I am sooo ready for the summer! Lol :D

I'll second the suggestion of drinking more water. vaping does really dehydrate you and I find that when I'm well hydrated I can taste things much better.

I haven't tried Mt. baker so I don't know how much flavor they have, but what I've tried that had the most flavor is this: Smokeless Smoking - Electronic Cigarettes — 503 eLiquid

and this: Good Life Vapor

maybe try a strong tobacco, cinnamon, or anise/licorice flavor.

Ahlusion had no flavor for me, but I ordered mine in 100% VG so maybe that's why

First, don't worry. Nothing is wrong with you, your tastebuds might just need a little more at this time. Or always. Taste changes, but you learn what works for you and what doesn't, what you like and what you don't. It takes time and you have to try a lot of new juices, but that's fun. I have been in your shoes and I'll tell you what specifically worked for me, because it might work for you, too.

A lot of us started out with MBV because it's a great place to start, but some of us just can't stay there for very long. It sounds like you are ready to move on. Never stop trying new vendors! There are too many great ones out there, and MBV may not be for you, as it wasn't for me. I was feeling just like you are now, and I was beginning to form some opinions about what I wanted to taste, and what I didn't want to taste in my juices. I tried some small orders from a few vendors in my search for something better, and with a blah order came a sample of Cherry Lemonade from Mister-e-Liquid, and that was the beginning of a great adventure in vaping for me. I would recommend you try it, because it was the ONLY flavor that made my eyes pop open at that time. I think that stuff is made for people who need a big jolt of Flavor to wake up their buds. It's strong, sweet, sour, and it will make your mouth water. I promise, you won't have to search for the flavor in that one! It got me over the flavor-blahs and I bet it would do the same for you. I still keep some on hand for when I get "vaper's tongue" and it helps every time.

I think you might also want to consider bumping up your nicotine a level too, because it sounds like you aren't getting a satifying throat hit or feeling.

When you try that one, there are a lot more out there just waiting to be discovered. It's a good feeling when you find out it's just that you had not been vaping the stuff you like, and when you find some stuff you like, there's bound to be more out there. And there is a lot more, both in liquid and equipment. You'll get there one step at a time when you're ready. It sounds like you're ready for the next step. When you find a few great juices that you love, then you'll naturally want to take the next steps with your equipment, to get the best vape possible. It's a natural progression.

You probably already know this, but make sure your coils are clean. Every time the flavor seems less, or "off", or your draw gets tight, take your clearomizers apart and wash them under hot running water, and examine the coils. If they are gunked up, you'll need to either dry burn them (check YouTube to learn how to maintain your make and model), or change the head completely. Maintaining your equipment to keep it in the best working order only takes a few minutes a day, but it's important, because no juice in the world is going to wow you if you vape it with a dirty coil or wick. You know about that, though.

Keep searching for YOUR perfect vape. It's out there waiting for you. Good luck!

I would try getting a 1.5 ohm i clear might help with the throat hit. I know for me only a "lowish" ohm coil will do it (for me) for the "satisfaction" throat hit. As far as flavor it will be a journey I've met some people that cannot taste any flavor liquids at all. Another thing to try is get a variety of flavor concentrates from the perfumers apprentice and add it to your liquid you have. It will dilute the nic level a little or a lot depending on how much you add.
