Hi ! Im new to the forum, I started vaping to quit smoking a bit over two years ago, English is not my first language so if I make any mistakes dont hesitate to let me know to correct ! I wanted to know if people could help me with the RBA of the TFV12 prince, I bought it about a week ago, before that I was on the classic SMOK resistors.

When I bought it it was with the basic coil included in the kit and I was able to do ~250 puffs with it before having a burnt taste (very sweet eliquid). Unfortunately I didn't know that the coils could be washed so I just replaced it with another one but since then I still have a terrible taste !

I've tried lots of things, each time I change coils luckily I have a lot but it's a bit of a waste. Same cotton level I tried lots of different things sometimes I tried to put a little more sometimes less etc. But each time I either have a horrible taste of weird metal or a burnt taste after not even 8 puffs.

The wattage does not seem to be the problem I tried at all the ranges (consistent with my OHMs) but nothing works.. I would like to find the normal taste of my juice and feel my HIT.
Thank very much to those who take the time to read and help me !

Is your cotton too tight inside the coil perhaps? It shouldn't be too snug when you pull the cotton through as you want it to be fluffy enough within the windings that it can wick the juice and hold on to enough juice while you fire it.

It's normal to get a bit of a 'new cotton' taste when you first rewick but it should go away pretty quickly. If it's packed/rolled too tightly it won't be able to wick fast enough and will burn.

Hi, thank for taking the time to help me, but I dont think my cotton is too tight, I try each time to make it just tight enough to hold and not too loose either.

Well, I feel more like it gives me a horrible burning taste (sometimes a metallic taste) rather than a cotton taste.

I've already tried so many things, watching a dozen tutorials etc. nothing works, I still have a horrible taste of sh*t after just a few puffs and it never goes away.
In addition, the level of hit in the throat is not crazy either, I don't feel the nicotine, sometimes I have the impression of just vaping air even with the airflows closed and it doesn't matter the wattage..

If to that I add that for some reason that I don't know, the juice is leaking for no reason?? Like it doesn't leak at first, then after 10-20 puffs it starts to leak, it stops, then it starts again for no real reason...

 I think I made the worst purchase of the century, I understand you so much..
I had a difficult time wicking it and then I just gave up.

I only have experience with dripping rbas not tanks unfortunately. Likewise, are you sure you're using enough cotton? It's a pain in the ... to nail down at first

yes I am almost sure that the problem does not come from the cotton..

I redid 3 edits today, always testing a few different parameters and each time still these awful tastes..

I noticed that when I opened the reservoir (where I put the liquid) it gave me a good taste again for 1-2 puffs then became disgusting again. Unfortunately, in addition to being very annoying, it makes my juice leak through my airflow for some reason that I don't know.

Frankly I think that if people see this and are hesitant to buy this rba, DO NOT BUY IT and if you have already done so, cancel or return ! I just bought the dead rabbit v3 RTA online, from what I've seen online or from someone close to me, it looks really good. I hope I won't have the same problems with it, I preferred to change before continuing to waste my coils and my cotton..

Anyhow, thanks for your help !

I have gotten multiple bad smok coils in a row unfortunately. I never recommend that company to anyone anymore because of their inconsistent quality.

yes it's clear, smok helped me a lot to stop smoking but it's time for me to abandon this brand and move on to my hellvape era.

I've had the Dead Rabbit v3 RTA for a few days and the build is very easy to do, I have excellent taste, the same for the throat hit, I had a bit of a burnt taste after about fifty puffs but that was immediately resolved by using less cotton and better fraying ( which does not adjust with the rba tfv12 no matter what I do ), no leak problem or anything.

only thing I have to say unfortunately, run away from SMOK !

I have and use the Smok Prince TFV12 and not had issues with it. It sounds to me you're either using too much cotton or cutting the cotton tails too long, so that there's too much cotton in the juice wells. The first few puffs, you are using the juice you primed with, but the wick cannot soak up any juice. Use enough cotton so that it easily slides through the coil. Cut the tails so the end rests just barely at the bottom of the juice well. Be sure you adequately fluff the ends. You might also try cutting the ends to a point, rather than straight across. The point should just barely touch the bottom of the juice well.

Hi, sorry for the late response Territoo, unfortunately I had a lot of work lately I couldn't answer you.
Once again I think that the cotton really wasn't the problem since I had used a multitude of different things and I ended up with this horrible taste each time.

I will say that the coils used are not the problem either since I use exactly the same ones on my dead rabbit and the taste is really very good !

I just think that there is nothing to do about this RBA except put it aside, thank you anyway for sharing your experience !
