My gawd, we're old, huh? Lol not many would get the reference....
Would you believe this was the first time I had the opportunity to use it in conversation?

Never heard it --not even on SNL but I kinda get the connotation and I can only assume the skit was hysterical. Shoot - I feel dumb even though I supposedly have a great vocabulary - I had to look it up - never heard that word before! I always referred to it as the "thing" in the back of your throat that looks like a punching bag...lol.

If your uvula is swollen here's why I found
Swollen Uvula: Causes and Treatment for Uvulitis

Uvulitis is inflammation, including swelling, of the uvula. It can be irritating, but it’s usually temporary. Unless your stomach hurts along with the swollen U ----

Only with certain flavors though, like the virginia tobacco juul flavor. Others don't cause it. weird.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Looks like if you keep yourself well hydrated and keep away from the irritating flavors, you should be in good shape. It's not surprising what smoking can do to medically exasperate the human race. If condition does not go away or becomes worse/changes, please see a doctor

It sounds like something in your juice, since its intermittent. If you stop using that particular flavor, and the symptoms go away, well, I'd say you may have your answer.

I also view the juul with a hint of suspicion anyway. It seems some folks just LOVE the juul formulated juice far more than any other juice (including nic salt juices). To me, anything that INTENSE leads me to wonder what they used to convert their juice to nic salts, and what other possible additives may be in there.

If you find your uvula swelling after that, I'd consult a doctor. Could be an allergy reaction to something (vaping or otherwise, I will say, this year my allergies in general are slightly worse, and I do wonder if tobacco "'blocks" some of those symptoms, much as it can do with asthma symptoms. So, if it doesn't clear up, then see a doctor and go from there.

This may also be a nice opportunity for other vapes besides the juul. You may find something that just works better for you, and with less expense.

Best of luck,

Anna

Having led a fairly adventurous life when I was a young man I’ll note that a swollen uvula is very common when introducing a new compound to your body, especially if it is introduced through the mucous membranes of the nose and throat, as vapor is. That said, I have experienced it even when the compound involved was simply mixed with liquid and swallowed.

I can’t explain much further without violating the ECF terms of service, but I have some experience with uvulitis, including a debilitating bout of it that laid me low for days when I was stubborn enough to not recognize that the weekend was over. You do not want to ignore it, because a really bad bout makes a bad case of strep look appealing.

The good news is that uvulitis is not generally an indication that anything is very wrong (standard disclaimer here- I’m not a doctor, let alone your doctor.) And a bout of it seems very unlikely to cause or indicate any long-term harm. I would be concerned if symptoms lasted more than a few days after discontinuing what you think is causing them.

If certain juices induce uvulitis in you, I’d recommend not using them. There is an old joke about a man and his doctor that ends with “don’t do that.”

Thanks. Funny. Sounds like Gilda ----those guys were my favorites --- I was a little kid - not even a teen yet -- and had a TV in my room and used to sneak watch it every Sat from its inception. That skit did not stick in my mind --probably went over my head then but I remember "Landshark".
