Hi everyone, happy to be a part of this forum

I've recently decided to buy a rechargeable hookah after smoking disposable ones for a while. So today I went out and picked up a entry level pen - the Fantasia Rechargeable E-Hookah. It looks sleek and it wasn't too expensive but I have a question

10708271_617875935000258_86943453_n.jpg

The thing inside the flavor tank, which looks like a string / wick type thing. Is that supposed to be there or am I supposed to somehow remove it? In videos and pictures of other peoples Fantasia pen, they do not have this wick thing inside. I've tried unscrewing the bottom and top but they don't' seem removable...so I'm assuming im NOT supposed to remove this wick thing but it seems strange considering, like I said, no other pens seem to have this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

Looks to me that you bought a disposable eliquid clearomizer (if you cannot take it apart). You can soak, rinse it out and refill it when you need to change flavors. But, when the coil burns out (or it doesn't perform well) you have to purchase another one.

I hope you did not pay $40 for it. Fantasia Rechargeable E-Hookah Starter Kit

There are much better options for a beginner.

Hi, and Welcome to all things Vape. The thing on top of your Vape pen is a Clearomizer, the strings are your wicks, they pull the ejuice up to the coil ( the heat source) this heats the liquid and causes Vaper. The one you have is called a top coil and from your description is a throw away. When you notice little or no Vaper and you have tried to clean it, it will probably be burned out and can not be fixed. Look around some of the great information on ECF, there are much better Clearomizers with replaceable coils, as well as tanks(larger ejuice holders with replaceable coils,(some are even the type you can learn to rebuild yourself) they come in soo many sizes, colors, and styles that you will have lots of fun chooseing and trying them out. The Battery is your power source and as long as your happy with the amount of time your battery lasts thats great, but you might want to have an extra to use while you recharge the other one. The tank that holds your juice and the coil that heats it are your Flavor producers so you want the best you can afford on these, but a good 1100 mah (milli amp hour) or higher (1300,1600,etc) battery is a good second battery. If you can afford it get a VV(variable voltage) this will help you take care of your coils so they last longer. Go to You Tube there are great vidios for begining Vapers, thats how I learned when I started. Nice to have you with us here at ECF and don't be afraid to ask questions! Hope this helped alittle. :)

Thanks so much for the quick replies, everyone. I'm sad that I paid 30$ for this pen considering the things you guys are saying about it. Seems like I got ripped off a little. I should've asked the guy at the smoke shop if he could reccomend me any better ones. But thanks for the advice anyway. The shop near me has a large selection of e-vapes so is there any specific models you guys would suggest?

EDIT: also, is e-liquid toxic if its nicotine free? I'm reading on these forums that its even harmful if it touches your skin..? the box i bought says e-liquid can cause cancer. I thought e-liquids were a safe(r) alternative to cigarettes?

I'm still happy with my simple ego 1100mah batteries, but I have a Vision Spinner that I really love, it's 1300 Mah and is a variable voltage, for me it's a great battery and lasts me 6 to 8 hours of steady vapeing. My concept is never run out of battery power so I have 4 ego 1100's I use in rotation, but these have been purchase over several months. If you have the funds I'd just get 2 Vision Spinners to start with (make sure they come with the correct chargers) ask the people at the shop to give you the correct one otherwise they may not charge completely( they will work for other ego style batteries but ego chargers may not work well with the Spinners). I would advise a Pro tank, pro tank mini, or a Nautilus mini (the nautilus only if it comes with BVC coils) make sure to get a few extra coils for whatever tank you decide on. The Nautilus is also more expensive but if taken care of will work with whatever setup you grow into. Please do the You Tube Vidios, there are many reviews on Vape gear and all I have mentioned are on there. Hope this helps alittle, but you will have to decide what works best for you, but maybe this is a starting place for you. Lots' of luck! :)
