head rush... damn

So I've just been researching head rush with vaping and thought I'd give my input
Just read alot about you don't get head rush from the nicotine in e juice like you would a straight.
Well... I did... big time. So much so I've just ad to go for a lie down.
I've recently been using a 0mg cloud chaser from vjuice but it has sadly ran out. Switched to an old bottle I had laying about. 1.8mg cherry apple by mister smoke. I'm also using a eleaf I stick 30w with a isub g tank. I never imagined my tolerance for nicotine would depreciate so quickly after tobacco abstinence. I've only fully given up the cigs about a month ago. Up until then I've Been both smoking and vaping, gradually cutting down until I was just vaping. Also been lowering my nicotine gradually (started on 3.6mg) and I have to say going back up has had a huge affect. Feels like the room is spinning. All in all just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced these effects or am I just going soft?

You probably mean 18mg and 36mg.. Not 1.8 and 3.6.

Those are incredibly high nicotine levels. Coming from 2 packs a day, I found 12 to be too much on a CE4.

Heck, I use 48mg nicotine as my "concentrate" for DIY-ing and 1mL of that will kick up most 30mL bottles quite a bit.
Apologies. It's 1.8%

That would be 18mg. Like I said, very high nic levels. I wouldn't even recommend that high to someone who's just coming off cigarettes.
Interesting. I'm not massively educated on all this stuff but when I went into my local shop and told the woman I used to smoke 20 a day she recommended 36mg to start.

I started off on a low-power CE4 cartomizer at 12mg. I pretty quickly found it to be too much, and went down to 6mg where I've stayed for almost 2 years now.

People have all these crazy mathematical formulas for attempting to calculate a comfortable nic level for a given wattage. The truth is, whatever feels comfortable to you and keeps you off cigarettes is the true "correct" nic level for you.

PS: I was a 2 PAD smoker (for about 4-6 years, 1 PAD for several years before that).

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

The fact is, high powered vaping has changed everything.

In the old days, 36mg was sometimes recommended.
Even 18mg was considered to be low for a heavy smoker.

These aren't the old days anymore.
And it sounds like the woman in your local shop is still living there.

There is no way to recommend a nicotine level without knowing the wattage being used.
It's like night and day compared to when things were simpler.

I used to smoke around 7 cigarettes per day.
And I started vaping at 12mg and have stayed there for over 6 years now.

But I vape an Ego Twist with a 510 atomizer at about 10 watts.

Yeah I found that to be the case, too. I had been using 18mg nic in my underpowered 1300mah Tsunami VPower setup, and was considering getting something more powerful. I was in a shop and the guy let me try a mod setup at 50w with a much larger tip, at a sub-ohm level and it nearly blew my socks off. I can hold the button down on my vape and inhale till it shuts off with no problem. 2-3 seconds on the big setup was all I could handle. I was thinking I was going to buy it until I tried that. Just too much throat hit. I was not ready for that. I actually felt like I could throw up for a few seconds! I think if I had tried it with much lower nic, it would not have been so bad. I tried turning the thing down; all the way down to 20w, and it was still too much. After reading a ton of threads on here, I realize that the nic level was the culprit for my bad experience. I should have used a much lower dose for sure.
