Having issues with my Aspire PockeX

I really liked my old Pockex so I bought a new one (only issues before were my fault... still learning) New one worked great. I should have kept old one as backup, but gave it to someone trying to quit cigarettes (huge mistake!) Put in a new coil one day and it worked most of the day, then refilled it and suddenly it wouldn't fire. I know I flooded it, but even then it should gurgle and eventually clear. Charged it up and tried again several times... nothing. I panicked and ran down to corner store and bought some cheap filter cigars... hated myself for that (been almost 2 months since I quit) Next morning I put in a new coil and it was fine. Today I filled it and same thing... would not fire. Smoked another nasty cigar. Everyone says do not overtighten coils, but this model has bottom of coil (where it contacts battery) submerged in e-liquid (I never understood this design) So I took a chance and tightened it more... bingo, fired right up. I also had stocked up a bunch of coils so kinda stuck with it for awhile (no funds to get a new device) I wish I had spent a little more and got a different device (wanted the new Aspire Tigon) I hope the Tigon does not have this same issue. Any recommendations for similar AIO device that uses similar resistance coils (0.6 ohm to 1.2 ohm)? Don't want super low resistance like some that use 0.25 ohm (smok for example)

I really like the Nord AIO. Some think the airflow is a little much, but I like it. Like you, I gave mine to another smoker. They have a new one, priv-n, uses the same coils, with adjustable airflow, but the OG has metal over part of the glass. Makes me feel a little better. Also, since the new one is pre-order, the older model is on sale most places.

The Tigon is not an AIO, it is a separate battery and tank like the Smok sticks or countless others.

Smok Nord AIO and Aspire Tigon... love them both! Wish I had waited and got one of these instead. Oh well... save some bucks, get one and my PockeX will be the backup. Thanks for the advice.

The thing to note about the tigon and some other stick mods is that, while being a stick, are not AIO. They have a "standard" 510 connection between the battery and the tank. This enables the interchangeability with a great deal of tanks, batteries, and coils. You wouldn't get locked into a coil that was no longer manufactured.

I love vaping and it killed me to resort to smoking again! Hey, I also have an Evod, but never liked it because I got bad coils (unofficial bulk coils... loose it a box from local vape shop) Should I give it another chance? Need a backup for now.

The priv-n has adjustability, both air and power.

That's a shame. generic coils for smok actually work better than original ones. I get my Nord coils from wish, when they do a sale, they can be had for 6$ a pack of five, including shipping. The evod is a good kit though, for what it is. I always liked Kanger coils.

HigherStateD, the Evod coils I got had no resistance printed on them (looked with magnifier) and may have been too high (2.5) I would like the 1.5 ohm. I often mix some 50/50 juice with my 70vg/30pg juice to thin it out... didn't try that at the time, might have helped. The coils just clogged up so fast. Also, 3 out of the seven coils were shorted out (verified with ohm meter) Don't want to go through that again!

There's also the Innokin Biip - a new AIO that has recently come out. Whatever AIO you end up getting, and when your finances let you - buy a replacement of the one you like

Aspire Nautilus X Tank

I have been using the Nautilus X tanks for years, and it appears that tank uses the same coils as your Pockex. My favs are the 1.8 coils in the Nauti X.

I haven't noticed the weirdness with the coils you have experienced, but do find it helpful to really crank the new coils down tightly when changing coils. I hold the coil in a vaper towel and put my thumbnail in the slot to help with leverage. You don't want to bend it, but just make sure it is down tight. Sometimes, removing the top cap for filling will loosen the coil if it isn't tight enough. I think it works better if you make sure the hole for the coil is really dry before installing a new coil.

I usually run my coils under 6 watts, so I start a new coil around 5 and slowly bring it up to 6 or whatever the sweet spot is for my juice. If you start the Nauti X coil too hot, you can ruin it immediately.

I'm MTL and do like my nic at least 12mg (I often mix thicker 6mg flavors with 18mg tobacco to thin them out) and would really like more options... time to move up to mods! Hey, did you realize you said "vaper towel" (cool freudian slip) Yes, I think you nailed it about the coil loosening and having to crank it down harder (when refilling) I did think the pockex coils where the same but not sure. Can anyone confirm this? Doesn't matter, I'm done with AIO and pockex will end up being my backup. So may choices... will have to sleep on this (mod dreams)

The link in my first post for the My Freedom store listed the coils as for the Nauti X AND the Pockex. I get mine here: Aspire Nautilus X Coils (5 Pcs), and he has the tanks as well: Aspire Nautilus X. This little Pico mod: Eleaf iStick Pico 75W TC is a nice little guy for any tank 22mm or smaller. Vape Shop is a good vendor and gets his orders out quickly if you need something fast.

Hi - The Nautilus X is quite good - if you're OK with the Pockex airflow, you should be fine with the X. The 1.8 coils are nice and your Pockex coils will work fine.

The Tigon is also good and I quite enjoy its vape. It uses entirely different, push-fit coils and its airflow control is easier to work with.

Tip - if you do get the X, don't get a black one - the airflow control is almost invisible.

Have a look at the Innokin Zenith tank - 4ml, you can swap coils with a full tank, and great flavour.

If you want a durable mod - look at the geekvape aegis solo or geekvape aegis mini. You can also get a kit - Innokin Zenith & Kroma-a stsrter kit

MyBatHurts, so it's confirmed... the pockex coils will fit nauti x. Good news (I have a bunch of 1.2 ohm coils) I guess I better stock up on "vapor towels"
