Hi, I was just wondering if any of you guys use hangsens tobacco essence concentrate and if so could you recommend a starting point with a percentage? I've seen people recommending anything from 5% to 15% which sounds far too much. Im in the middle with how strong I like my tobaccos if that helps. Not overly mild and not overly strong, I know it's subjective but I just need a starting point from someone with first hand experience of using it.

Im gonna make about four batches at slight different percentages and leave them steeping while I'm away for the week.

the mix will be 50/50 pg/vg and 20mg nic.

thanks

Man I've been trying to nail these flavors down for awhile now..I love tab blended and flue cured...the essence is really tricky to work with tho..I mix at 50/50 3-6mg..I've tried 7% up to 10%..the seven percent was weak initially but decent after a week steep..the 10 percent tastes much better initially but the flavor fades pretty drastically after a week steep..I'm really trying to nail these because they are really good...a little pricey tho to keep wasting bottles..any help would be great

I mixed up some flue cured essence last week at %5 and for my taste found it to be excellent

That has been my experience as well. Sometimes less is more. I've done Hangsen tobaccos at 2.5% with plenty of flavor - US Red for example. Congress on the other hand requires a minimum of 10%.

I've vaped hangsen tobaccos exclusively for the past several years and find 5 - 7% across the board for all hangsen tobaccos perfect. Stay away from mixing the TPA tobacco with the hangsen or you'll ruin the tobacco essence and introduce a chemical taste. If your looking for more tobacco essence then hangsen provides get yourself some tobacco absolute and add that.

I also found some of the Hangsen flavors really tricky to mix (Ry1 and Tab for example). One exception for me is Highway. It has a distinct nutty note in it and if you like that sort of thing, I'd recommend giving it a try if you haven't done so already. I've been told that Indian is a stronger Hangsen flavor as well but I haven't tried it yet.

As far as help with what you already have, I'd suggest getting a stronger tobacco, a TA , or maybe even both to mix with the Hangsen. Take a look at some of the Inawera flavors and ta's to see if anything catches your fancy.

I also like the TFA Dk Tobacco as mentioned by Mr Applebee for mixing with other tobacco flavors. For me it has a little of that perfumey thing I sometimes get with TFA flavors, but that completely goes away for me in a couple of hours. It's cheap enough to be worth a try at any rate.

Cheers fellas, looks like somewhere between 5 and 7 is the general consensus.

Gonna try a batch with 1% tpa dk tobacco added with the HS aswell. It's a little overwhelming alone in higher percentages but there's something in there that I like.

Yep I couldn't agree more. I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that you're like the results. Keep us posted. :vapor:

Danny, at light dosage, that chemical taste goes away for me after a few hours. But evidently it doesn't for everyone, as I've read several posts where folks just cant get past it. I totally agree that TA's and other tobacco's would be more suitable to most though.

If I'm not mistaken the tfa dk has butyric acid in it or some kind of acid responsible for the chemical flavor like whats in the Capella v2 flavors which for me really don't like to be mixed it seems like they weaken other flavors when I try to make something complex..and for me you have to use it at a really really low percentage for the base to mellow out that note..and no I haven't tried the HS deluxe yet but I absolutely loooooove the flue cured it is the most amazing tobacco flavor period..it has an extremely natural sweetness I just love it and it is my stuck on an island with one juice/one mod flavor..Turkish blend is quite good as well..tab blended is second to flue...I haven't had the ry4 in awhile because its always sold out but if I can recall its extremely good as well..and I do have TA from my freedom smokes I just don't dig it..it doesn't mix well for me no matter how I dilute it..I can't get a decent flavor from it unless I put enough in it to where the juice clouds out and it separates from the base and sticks to my bottles..messy ish I tell you..

Thanks. I'm going to try the flue cured, I'm hearing nothing but good things about it. I wondered what it was with the tobaccos I had tried so far from tpa, a lot of them tend to have that 'taste' in them.

I can't imagine you not liking it. It's very pleasant and slightly sweet. Anywhere in the 5-7% range should be perfect. I'm like Danny, I mix all my HS tobaccos @ 5-7%. I also add .5-1% of EM so it mutes flavor just a bit. I like the fullness and slight sweetness it adds to the vape.

I've vaped quite a few different HS tobaccos over the last year. There's a group of them that are all similar in a very pleasant and addictive flavor that aren't overpowering or harsh. My core is Desert Ship (all time fave), Flue, Deluxe, TAB, and now #5 is on the list of must have in the rotation. I recently got into #5 and have come to really love it.

Some of the others have distinct earthy notes. Indian, Arabic, and Turkish come to mind. Many love arabic but it has a cedar type note to it that I don't like. Definitely a must try because those that like it REALLY like it. I really enjoy the earthy (or woody?) notes in Indian and Turkish. Mix a little AP in those and you get a smooth and complex nutty/earthy flavor that can become addicting.

I'm done with almost all other flavors except for HS tobaccos. They just do it for me. Never cloying and I never get tired of them. Simple to mix too. I could probably rotate 5 HS tobaccos for the rest of my life and be totally satisfied.

my other half is gonna go ape when she next opens up her online banking app. Haha. Just ordered some more tobaccos from HS.

I originally went with DK and m-type from tpa because I was told by customer support at epipemods that that is what they use in their Kentucky bluegrass and long bottom leaf. I can sort of taste it aswell but I haven't managed to get it right.

I've tried a couple FA/TPA tobaccos with no success. Some people can mix it right. I can't. The beauty of HS is the simplicity. Standalone or just slight mods with enhancers makes a great vape. If you like HS half as much as I do, you will never look back. I mix my faves 120mls at a time and store them in glass on a dark shelf. They stay good for 6+ months no problem.

after mixing up a fresh batch how long do you usually leave it before vaping it?

Thanks. My girlfriend is getting over eager to try yesterday's mix. So am I to be honest. Lol. Going to leave alone though.

Warm water bath it and shake it a bunch then give it a try. If it tastes a little weak or hollow then it needs more time. At least get an idea what it tastes like. No sense torturing her. lol
