I just finished my first bottle of 30ml / 18mg Halo Menthol ICE in about 3 weeks. Its my all day vape , love this stuff. But figure Halo's other menthols are worth a shot, too.

I hear truepure has a tobacco flavoring to it (not sure what truepure is, its not on their site? I don't wnat that , just a great menthol like halo menthol ice (which i could buy again, but want to find out what other people who smoked menthol ice as their ADV tend to like too)

The choices to buy are:

Menthol ICE , cool mist, mystic, or sub-zero

looking for more of a throat hit than menthol ICE without having to turn up the voltage farther to achieve that effect

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If it helps, I'm vaping on:

Ego-c Twist variable voltage 1000 mah battery (vape between 3.8-4.2 volts)
Kanger Protank2 mini (2.2 ohm)

I think their sub-zero is their most potent menthol, and from the description, seems to be what you are looking for

SubZero E-liquid offers an intensely fresh experience, packed with triple the menthol effect of our standard menthol e-liquid flavors. Designed for those seeking a more concentrated menthol effect, this premium e-liquid blend offers a subtly sweet mixed mint aftertaste.

I am vaping the menthol ice right now @7.4W (love it, steeped for almost two years!). To me it is a medium vicks vapor rub menthol with a lightly sweet spearmint flavor. And from the description of the sub-zero, it sounds like it's using the same base with the lightly sweet spearmint that is in menthol ice, but also has a much harder menthol kick.

Same with me. Halo was my first vendor and I have tried most all the juices. I never smoked a menthol in my life so didn't order a menthol juice for quite a while. But once I tried Subzero I was very impressed. It's menthol but has a great taste in addition.

Hx3 is a good option (though I don't think it's listed as a menthol) if you REALLY want a serious TH and menthol on the exhale. The first time I tried that my response was "Whoah!" Quite the kick.

I vaped Halo's menthols (and two other Halo juices) exclusively until a few months ago. Here's my assessment of their menthols...

Sub Zero - all menthol and nothing else. Tastes like a plain Hall's menthol drop to me
Menthol Ice - a step down in throat hit and overall menthol-ness, but adds a touch of sweetness and I've recently picked up a flavor I can't describe
Mystic - Toned down menthol ice - a little less flavor and a bit smoother; I barely detect that flavor I can't describe
Cool Mist - Less flavor, yet at times a bit harsher somehow

Kringle's Kurse is another menthol, but listed as a gourmet. It tastes exactly like one of those red and white swirled mints.

My taste buds are changing and I'm moving away from Halo's menthols. Lots of things taste different to me now after recovering from 20 years of cigs, so it's not a shot at Halo by any means. My beloved Guinness gets less rotation too. Sierra Nevada's Porter is where it's at.

Sub zero is the only menthol from halo I like. I will sometimes spike torque 56 with subzero for a pretty good tobacco menthol.

Subzero has great TH btw

The HX3 menthol tobacco tastes like freedom and mystical menthol, I didn't like it.

I have torque and tried various ratios with menthol ice and didn't really like it, the torque overpowered it seemed like even at 5:1 menthol ice / torque.

SO....i'm excited to try torque and subzero together, sounds like it might be more of a better mixer (the subzero, that is).

what ratio's do you suggest trying out for torque + subzero ?

just mixed like half menthol ice and half subzero cuz still had a bit of menthol ice in my tank. I can already tell that I'll love subzero alone, I hope!

thanks for the reply.

PS - you have good taste in beer, sir

I really wanted to like Sub Zero, but it's just way too bland for me. Everyone's different.

I forgot about a great beer that I haven't had in a long time - Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter. Gotta grab a 6 pack now that my taste buds have changed. And Cooperstown's Benchwarmer Porter. I'm a huge Porter fan. They tend to have a bit more flavor than stouts do, or at least the ones I like do. Cooperstown's beers are pretty hard to find, even though I live about an hour and a half away.

I've used and enjoyed Menthol Ice. I tried Sub Zero and it was like someone put Listerine in my tank .. way too much menthol for me. Others like it a lot, though, so more power to them. Taste IS subjective. I've also tried the other menthols as well. I didn't really like Mystic. Cool Mist seemed so close to Menthol Ice that I couldn't really tell much difference, except maybe not as strong as Menthol Ice. The B&M shopkeeper had me sample some Malibu from their gourmet line. I don't really like fruit flavored vapes all that much, so I didn't think I would like it. I did at first. Sort of a coconut menthol thing going on with a touch of pineapple. I bought some, but after a little bit, all I could taste was pineapple with a minty after effect, so I stopped using it, and eventually gave it away. I found out later that steeping it for a week or so makes it better. I'm kind of impatient, though, and don't like waiting for juices to steep... So, for me, Menthol Ice would be my Halo menthol recommendation. Someone mentioned Kringle's Curse. That isn't really a menthol, IMO. It's a peppermint flavored juice, and it's a really good one if you like a sweet minty juice.

In my previous posts I meant to say I vaped Halo menthols exclusively until a few DAYS ago rather than a few MONTHS ago...

If you like Halo's Menthol Ice, give Mr. E Liquid's Menthol a try. Excellent juice that's pretty similar, yet doesn't have that taste in it I can't identify. It's also a few bucks cheaper and available in different strengths, VG/PG ratios, nic levels and bottle sizes. Their straight menthol is listed under premium tobaccos, but there's no tobacco flavor in it.

Does anyone know what other vendors have that is similar to subzero that is cheaper?

I'd say Mr. E Liquid's Menthol is similar to Halo's Sub Zero. I like Mr E's more as it has a touch of sweetness that Sub Zero doesn't have. Halo charges about $20 for 30ml vs Mr E's $14.50 for 30 ml and $47.50 for 120 ml.

A 10ml bottle for $5.75 will tell you if you like it or not.

Halo's subzero is good but it's an overwhelming menthol. It's literally like putting vicks vapor rub on, flavor and smell wise... only your smoking it, so imagine how it kind of hits you in the face lol.

It's good, but not an all day vape...but Subzero is GREAT to throw in other stuff for that menthol kick. :) Good luck on your menthol journey- and also many people recommend Mr. E's Menthol- including PBusardo from YouTube.
