Honestly, you're going to have to do your own dirty work. 1 company makes the authentic, and several make clones. fasttech clones usually have poor engravings, but nicer clones are spot on. And because more clones are made than authentic, the odds lean towards clone.
the only real way to find out is contact the dude who traded it to you.

Or you could try get an original from a friend and do a side by side comparison. that also is sometimes tricky, but there should be some difference between the threads, thickness of tube, quality of steel and engraving, as well as types of 510 pin and screws used.
But frankly bro, this is a question you should have ask before the trade, now that you already traded, just try it, then if you like the result, well and good.

FWIW, I purchased a Hades clone about a week ago and it's a great mod. It came with a magnet replacement kit. It has a smooth throw to begin with, but with the magnets installed it's butter smooth. The locking ring is flawless and spins quick with a firm finger flick.

I can't help with the authentic vs clone issue, but the clone is solid and should perform well.

Hope this helps.
