Hi all,

I got some PG juices in the mail today and I was thinking about adding a little bit of VG to make them vape bigger clouds.

I called rite aid and asked if they had any and they said they had a bottle of 99.5% pure anhydrous glycerin, but the guy couldn't tell if it was "vegetable" gylcerin or not (keep in mind I didn't really know what I was asking for either - newbie vaper).

Is this the right stuff? Or is there a difference between plain glycerin and VG?

Ahem... Well, I've been vaping the Rite Aide stuff for about a week now.... not dead or covered in tumors yet!

It doesn't say USP anywhere on the bottle.

It does vape very well. No taste and huge clouds. I've been using it to cut down other liquids (can't do the higher nic anymore, makes me sick) and I'm happy with it... Except the price, $6 for 177ml.

I'd say goferit.

Hmm, I bought some today and it said USP grade on it. Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable going against the recommendations but to each his own :toast:

I paid $11.99 plus tax for 6oz/177ml. Small town drug store that knows nobody else has it.

I may try this place someday

I agree. I've used it and it is fine to use in a pinch but it's pricey.

Why are things always bad for you? Why can't there be something that makes you resistant to cancer, whitens your teeth, enlarges your primary gender attributes (hootus or hooters, dependant upon gender.. although they are concurrent in some samples of the population) or just plain old improves your driving?...

It's not fair really, and if you look at it from a statistical perspective, it really makes no sense. There should be a nearly equal number of things that improve you as there are that ruin you.... Think I'll lodge a complaint with the management!

There were two things that I never wanted to do in life: watch NASCAR and shop at Walmart. Well, vaping forced me to shop at Walmart. The Humco brand is $3.88 for 177ml, and you will find it in the pharmacy section under hand care products.

It is USP grade. In case you are interested, you can pick up PG at Tractor Supply for around $22/gallon. It is also USP grade. Call ahead on this one: not all TS carry it in stock. Amazing, I am halfway through my second gallon of PG in 3.5 years although I have been making juices for friends on occasion.

Between my genesis styles and the BC Kanger and Russian styles, I seem to be going through a lot more juice than in the days of the tea bag mods of the carts. There are B&M's here who charge $1/ml, and that can make vaping very expensive.

I am going to rant on B&M's-not so much for their ridiculous pricing. If you are dumb enough to pay them, then you cannot be helped.

I peeve with them is that their selling to minors will bring down the hammer of regulation on the vaping community.

I could go through a pack of sticks watching a 4 hour NASCAR race. One more reason to quit. Vaping during last nights race, my wifey said I need to get some low nic for times like this.

I paid $12 for that 177ml Humco because I didn't shop around and that is still only 7 cents a ml. I will try anywhere before I go to Wally.

We are getting a TS soon so that solves that.

I just made my first batch and calculated $2.39 for 10ml with flavoring.

Two types of glycerine - veg derived and animal derived. Both are ok, the animal will just say glycerine, and I think gives you more cloud, but not 100% sure of that.

I personally didn't notice a difference in vapor production.

regarding non-USP VG, i dont recommend it. not that anyone is, but id just like to say i noticed an irritated throat and cloudy mixes with food grade VG. my throat would act up, like as if i was being strangled by a really weak person, maybe a baby for example LOL.

you could get that rate down by 1/3 if youre interested. ive made 30ml batches that were in the $2-3 range. but honestly its splitting hairs because you are already into DIY and saving boatloads of cash.

When I was starting in DIY, I went everywhere looking for USP VG. Most pharmacies in my area don't carry Glycerin, or if they do, is in the hair product department. The best deal I found was the Humco USP Glycerin from Walmart at $3.88 for 6 oz. I've been using this for almost a year with great results.
