With the new import ban. It says you can get a prescription from your doctor and your pharmacy can get it on your behalf. I'm not sure how this works. Is it via your usual vendor or what. Just what precisely do I have to do to get my vape please?
Good luck with that.
The system will no doubt be rigged so that you can only buy small amounts, the pharmacies will charge a fortune and you will be visiting your GP every month at least - that's if you can find a doctor who will actually prescribe nicotine.

This is a tax grab. Any new prescription system will be designed to fail.

Sorry but if you haven't stocked up yet you are in for a very difficult time.

Duh...Australian ban now delayed to January for parliament debate, political hip shooting for PR.....so what's new in the Nanny State. Public out cry has made the Health Minister back down, the side benefit was that New Zealand, the main Aussie source for nic saw a huge increase in orders for a few days. Australia has a big alcohol consumption problem, but the Polies ignore this very popular addiction.

My heart goes out to you Australians, plenty of space here in Spain so you are all welcome to move here :)

Going off topic a bit it always amazes me the difference in taxation on booze from one country to another.
Here in Spain if you go to a supermarket like LIDL,Carrefour or Mercadona you can find cans of beer from as low as 19 cents a can (no names generic stuff) to up to a buck and change for imported german stuff.

Wine is also pretty cheap, about 0,80 to 1 euro the wine in a box (1ltr),proper bottle with cork is about 1 euro and change.
Hard stuff like gin, tequila, etc you can get pretty cheap if it's no named stuff, like 4 or 5 euros a bottle but yeah you will go blind with that stuff and the hangover will kill you the next day.

This weeks news regarding taxation on vaping is going just as i predicted, they are looking into taxing nicotine, not sure if it's going to be overtaxed but knowing the spanish government im guessing yeah we will pay way more for it.

I'm not an individual who believe that adults with sound mind should be told what they can and cannot do so long as what they are doing does not have a negative impact immediately on others. And when I say negative impact I don't mean someone doesn't like what someone else is doing or that It's upsetting them I mean actual tangible harm.

I don't drink I don't want to ban alcohol but from a logical point of view alcohol is so much worse for society and for people individually then vaping. So many car accidents and violent assaults and domestic disturbances are fueled by alcohol. I've never heard of anyone hitting a vape and being psychologically alter to the point where they start beating their children. It is incredibly blatant as to why they've chosen vaping instead of alcohol. Apparently the flavors in E Juice attract children according to them but the cotton candy vodka that's a okay LOL they don't even try to cover up corruption anymore in the United States

What i don't understand is why they haven't done any movement towards the establishments that actually sell the stuff.
I mean they don't want kids to vape?
Fine then work directly with the source, the establishments that actually sell the vaping apparatus and e-liquids.

Take for example your local 7-11,if they are caught selling to a minor they get a fine, not so small so that they can disregard it as meh and not a big one that might make them bankrupt.

Just big enough for them to realize it isn't no joking matter, that is the only chance they get, they screw up again they get closed FOR GOOD!!

Boggles my mind why this is something that hasn't been discussed.

And yeah we can also mention that kids can also acquire them online, well then maybe it's up to the parents to actually do their job and do some parenting.

But this right here is a hatchet job, yeah sure the kids yadda yadda but what about the adults?
do they go back to smoking just because certain people couldn't do their job?

From what I have read about this (sorry no sources, it wasn't a tabloid though..), the number of hoops that a Dr. would have to jump thru and the overall cost would make it nearly impossible to get a prescription.

There are no establishments selling e liquid with nicotine in it in Australia. All nic or nic juice has to be bought online.
You're right call BS on the kids argument though. The gateway to smoking argument is ridiculous. Just doesn't stack up to logical debate but that doesn't stop corrupt politicians like Hunt from trotting it out at any opportunity. The msn is on a crusade ""There'll be no vaping on my watch" is his favourite saying

I feel for you (actually I really do, not just saying that to be nice) So many things (in this world) have changed... especially lately. It's all about control and money (which reminds me... I refuse to take the chip... over my dead body) Guess I better get some more nic myself (I do DIY) before they decide to tax the crap out of it.

Agree 100% - it's an absolute crock of :censored:

It's bad enough that all Aussie vapers already have to purchase nicotine or nicotine ejuice from international sites. For a Health Minister to take that option away? Sheer stupidity :grr:
