Hello folks and welcome back for today's review of the Obelisk 65 FC Kit from Geekvape. The Obelisk 65 FC is the latest version in the Obelisk family of devices, what makes the FC so nice is the ability to fully charge the 2 1100mAh internal batteries in 16-18 minutes using a 15- 45watt brick that is not included in the kit. As mentioned in it's name the Obelisk 65 FC has a max wattage output of 65 watts and uses the B series of coils. There are 6 power modes and a OTG mode that turns the Obelisk 65 FC into a power bank for charging other devices from it. Lets delve into the Obelisk 65 FC and get to know it's features before my review

UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS
First off you will notice that the Obelisk 65 FC has a new look to it making it a bit shorter as well as stocky, the new design really makes the hand fit feel great and having no sharp edges throughout the whole mod adds to the comfortable grip. Being made of a zinc-alloy and plastic the device is not as heavy as I thought it was going to be, weight of the device is 150 grams. One thing I want to mention is the Type-C cable is a C TO C cable for charging other devices when used as a power bank.
The pod attaches as most do using 2 strong magnets, the coil is offset in the pod and has 2 flat spots that need to be lined up with the flat spots of the coil upon installation, Geekvape ships the Obelisk 65 FC with the 0.2Ω mesh coil pre-installed in the pod with a protective sticker over it that must be removed before vaping.
When pulling the coil for priming it may be necessary to use the coil removal assist tool, because of the coils offset position you will need to use the bottom of the wrench tool to pry up on the coil.
The pod has a tint to it that makes it hard to view juice levels even when the pod is removed, speaking about juice levels I have to pull the pod in order to see my juice level because it sits so low in the device, this should have been a clear pod with some sort of window to view juice levels instead of having to remove it to view juice levels. Having a 4.5ml capacity helps but keep a eye on it. The 510 drip tip is comfortable to use. The Obelisk 65 FC has dual airflow slots with hard stops on each side of the pod.
In this picture you can see just how small the viewing window is on the pod when installed, airflow slot is 3/4 closed. I never had any funny sounds or whistles from the airflow in any position I put it in, it's a fairly quiet pod and the airflow is very smooth.
The Obelisk 65 FC is a top fill pod with a easy open plug that can be rotated out of the way when filling your juice.
The back of the device has some ribbing for a accent that cant really be felt in the hand but it gives the device a nice look.
Both sides of the device have a wild pattern on them that I really like, Geekvape is also imprinted on both sides, the type-c charge port is located at the bottom of one side of the device. I really love the form factor of the Obelisk 65 FC, being short and stocky makes it very ergonomic.
The display screen has a bit of a new look to it which I like, all the pertinent information is laid out on the bright and vivid display screen. There are 2 Obelisk 65 kits that are made the regular 65 and the 65 FC, the regular Obelisk does not have the fast charging feature and it's fire button has no logo embossed on it. You have the option of using 5 color highlights on the display screen and they are RED, GREEN, BLUE, PURPLE and ORANGE, my favorite color as many of you know is BLUE and that is what's displayed. This is the display screen from top to bottom. The Obelisk 65 FC also has the round robin feature inside.

Using the fast charge is fantastic, in only 16-18 minutes you are fully charged back up from a totally depleted battery, the device does get a little warm but not hot by any means.. This is what the fast charging screen looks like when charging.
Navigating the menu is very easy on the Obelisk 65 FC.

USING THE OBELISK 65 FC
I have to really compliment Geekvape on the Obelisk 65 FC for the form factor and great ergonomic hand feel as well as being lightweight. There are a few cons being the tinting on the pod and having to pull the pod out and off the device in order to view your juice level, if both of those issues were resolved this would be a almost perfect device kit.
I started out using the pre-installed 0.2Ω mesh coil that's rated for between 50-58 watts in regular power mode at 52 watts and flavor was there but not great, after about a pod and a half the flavor really popped.
I went into the smart mode and in smart mode it suggested 56 watts which was fine but I feel 52 watts was all I needed for great flavor and the warm vape that I like so I put it back at 52 watts for the rest of testing for that coil. I'm very happy that Geekvape decided to use the time proven B-series of coils for preserving battery life and still getting a great vape.
Next up was the 0.4Ω mesh coil that's rated for between 25-35 watts, I started out at 25 watts but the vape was a bit cool for my liking so I went to 30 watts and found my sweet spot there, again there was a small break in of the coil before flavor began to pop.
Having dual airflow really gives a even flow of air to the coil, in testing I tried many airflow settings and never heard any whistle or funny sounds just smooth airflow on all settings.
This little guy has been in my hand for a couple of weeks and don't see it leaving anytime soon, other than the dark pod and very small juice window this device is almost perfect.
I really like being able to be back to a full charge in under 20 minutes which goes by fast. I did try the OTG mode and that feature worked but I doubt I would ever use it but having the ability to do so in a emergency is nice.
The buttons feel good and are pretty quiet, no loud clicking when pressed.
So in closing I really like the Obelisk 65 FC and will continue to use it in my personal rotation of device kits. If you can get used to pulling the pod every so often to check juice levels then you should really pick one up because I feel it's a winner for sure.
One thing that has me wondering is why the menu has TC-SS and TC-TCR when the current B - series coils don't have coils that would work in TC settings. Maybe they will in the not so distant future, I don't use TC but it got me wondering. What would be nice is a RBA pod for the Obelisk 65 FC.
I would like to thank Allison and Geekvape for providing the Obelisk 65 FC for the purpose of this review and I hope my review helped anyone thinking of picking one up which you should because it's a winner.
THANK YOU
