I am taking a 3 month hiatus from work so decided to diy. I had very good results with 3 vaping Zone concentrates but decided to go with FlavourArt based on reviews and I get 10ml for the price of 5ml of VZ.

I'm giving you my VZ results to give you an idea of strength and flavor likings. I mixed up 50ml ea (after 5ml testing) of the 3 VZ flavors ... Black Cigar (B&M), French Pipe, and Dunhilll. I settled on 10% (just under from test) for each and enjoy all 3. I tried a test of Real Cig at 2.5% and it was a bit much, so I plan to use it as a base for experiments. Now on to FA flavors. Based on my VZ results, what do you think will be the best percentages for FA:

Burley
Latakia
Black Fire
Cuban Supreme
Dark Vapure
Cam Tel
[MTS]

I only do tobacco but always thought of "blending" so while I was at it I bought 1 dram ea of the following LorAnn ... Coffee, Caramel, Apple, Cotton Candy, Mango, Marshmallow, & Pralines and Cream. Any cool recipes using tobacco and any or any combination of these? Remember, other than Boba's and Black Honey I have never ventured far from straight tobacco.

Thanks!!!

Depends. FA tobaccos have a different taste depending on the percentage used. Seriously. Try a 5% Cuban and a 15% Cuban side by side. Both work, but taste different.

Want easy? You can make a cheap cigar taste with 5% Dark Vapure and a drop of Burley in a 15ml mix. Then add other stuff from there.

Dark Vapure works at different levels, but the 5 + a drop of Burley is usually a solid start, but don't think it will get stronger with more, it will just change.

Also remember that FA tobacco mixes usually need steeping to get the full flavor out.

Thanks Hoosier. I guess what I'm asking is based on the different nuances from each of the FA flavors listed (which I already bought), what % tends to yield best results to those of you who read this? Obviously 20% is gonna be to strong, 1% not enough? And maybe what nuances stand out from each individually? Simply put, best % by opinion and maybe a mini-review. thanks!

I use FA tobaccos for my main vape so I'll have a go at answering.
FA suggest about 2% strength, but I find this a bit low. I use about 4-5%
for Black Fire which is the strongest,15% for Cuban, and around 7-10% for
the others. My favourites are Burley which I'd describe as full bodied (as in the name!) ,and
Camtel which is sweeter. Black Fire has a 'tarmac' flavour but in a good way!
Cuban is quite mellow, the others are pretty regular tobacco flavours. I also like Shade
and Virginia.
LibertyFlights ,Diy E Liquid ? E Liquid Diy - Mixing E Liquid,
where I get them from has comments for each flavour but everyone tends to say opposite things!
I use them by themselves as they are quite good, and don't steep them much/at all
as I prefer a 'fresher' flavour. You could start at 3-5% strength and go up from there.
I use the fruit flavours also but these are more basic, probaly best blended.
The Belgian Waffle is very good btw!

Hey, thanks Rivaman. Yea, I found L-F my 3rd "shopping" trip and was blown away how cheap they are! Was thinking of adding light caramel and moderate coffee to the Vapure for AM fix, and maybe a caramel-Apple Latakia. Any thoughts?

I haven't really done any mixes with the tobaccos, just use them straight. I might try the mixes you give, will come back if they are good! If you use Vivi Nova or T2/T3 you can mix in the tank (1ml is about 30 drops), its what I do most the time, don't get any benefits of steeping but as I said I like a 'fresh' taste. This guy http://www.flavourart.co.uk/index.asp does the full range of FA and some blends that might be of interest.

So I presume this would be a strong tobacco flavor since you say cheap cigar.. would the same amount in 20 ml be about like a cig? Also.. how's the sweetness on that, what would you personally add as far as vinegar, mts, or bitter wizard and such to get a basic tobacco flavor?

If you're referring to what I posted, no. At lower % Dark Vapure takes on a more coca taste, so diluting it would not be anything like a cig. Like I've said, different tastes for different levels, they only get stronger and weaker in a narrow range, and then it changes to something different. (Sometimes you won't believe you used the same flavoring, it can be really drastic.)

Sweetness is like a cheap, dark, cigar. If it's too sweet for you then look at adding FA's Bitter Wizard. You can try vinegar, but I don't think that is the way you want to go, based solely on assumptions, but it is worth an experimental bottle to see.

Does bitter wizard and ethyl maltol require a lot of steep time? I got some stuff that's already steeped well, and I'm getting the bitter wizard, em, capsicum HEAT and more nic in the mail.. I wanna up the nic and try the the additives.. hoping they won't take long to steep.

EM usually needs time with the other ingredients. BW has an impact right away.

Be cautious with both, as tiny amounts can have big effects on tobaccos. I'm talking 0.2% or less, tiny. (And just to make it exciting, sometimes much more is needed. Overshooting with EM isn't too bad, but overshooting with BW is ten pounds of nasty in a gallon bucket)

yeah, testing both at just under 1%. I'm vaping no pg mixes(except from flavorings), does really seem to cut the sweetness. Now that you mention it I think I'm detecting quite a bit of the bitter..Will try next batch with a little less. I think I'm ok with the em at this level. I'm still mixing the vinegar at 2% which seems to cut some sweetness to me as well, so maybe it's a bit of an overshot with both at these levels. It's ok.. just not great...
