I spend almost all day in front of my computer :). Although it only happens when I am vaping. I think it is because of the volume of nicotine I am taking in. My mix can't be more than 9mg but I do vape quite a bit (2ml a day probably).

I cut my liquid so that it should be no more than 9mg of nicotine. But I still get it. The strange thing is, it only happens in my left eye. No where else do I feel twitching.

I have also experienced the "twitch" I get it in my lower right lid... I have always had it even before vaping, but it has definately been much more frequent since I started. I have always felt it had to be some sort of deficiency. From what I have read on the subject (even before vaping) it seems like dryness would be the only link from vaping. But haven't read any concrete info on the cause.

Because I'm still a noob and can't post a link I'll briefly post what I found online.

To find a solution for twitching eyes, we needed to determine the underlying cause of this annoying problem. Called myokymia in doctor lingo, these rippling muscle contractions in an eyelid can be triggered by:

Stress
Tiredness
Eyestrain
Caffeine
Alcohol
Dry eyes
Nutritional imbalances
Allergies

Does anyone have any of those symptoms along with the twitching?

Sorry for the delay in a response.

I've noticed this only seems to occur when I am using vegetable glycerin (Wilton's) mixed with Lorann's caramel flavoring. The frequency of this occurring is become quite a bit less in the past few days. When I am just using straight e-liquid it does not occur at all.

At first I thought it was the nicotine (18mg) but I don't think it is the case anymore since my mix is usually 2ml eliquid/2ml vg/1 ml flav. It would seem that if it were the nicotine that it would most likely be more evident when I just vape without cutting.

I'm not sure if this was just coincidence or perhaps a reaction to the juice. Regardless, I am thinking of no longer using VG to cut with as soon as I can find a place to purchase PG from.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I'm loving vaping, but have noticed I get a twitch in my left eyelid. I'm curious if anyone else experienced any twitches like this. This only seems to occur after I vape for a bit.

Hi,

im a biochemist and here is my theory, propylene glycol is metabolised to lactic acide in the body, this results in a decreased PH (more acidic) blood or
lactic acidosis, the shift in ph has an effect on minerals in the body and the metabolism of minerals since minerals can only bind at a specific PH. This would result in a loss of Mg++ ions which in turn causes cramping and the twitching you are describing. My advice would be to take a Ca++ / Mg++ supplement to avoid the twitching and to keep your blood ph in tact. The glycerin is taking this one step further though, same principle though. Our bodies are reacting the same way as someones body would react after serious excersise, this is not deadly but you are getting mineral depleted. If any of you where wondering yes I also have the left eye twitch:) I would not worry about this at all, the only time you need to worry is if you are experiencing paplipations, but this would most probably be the nicotine, but if you are smoking nicotine free propylene glycol and you get palps it means your mineral balance is completely messed up.

it would be nice if someone who vapes could go for a blood ph test to confirm my theory, im 98% sure this is what is happening thoug....

take care!

Oh, this is good to know. I've had an annoying, occassional twitch in my left eye for years (which hasn't been worsened by vaping).

I had a right eye twitch about one month into vaping. I also recieved new juice the same day. Some 36 to cut and a "mint" 18 mg sampler. I was probably over-sampling but it could have been nicotine or flavoring, or over-vaping... I suspected nicotine, but have suspected flavorings for some other issues.

I have had blood tests done twice since I started vaping in April. Doc said all my labs were excellant. I have copies of the labs and can't find a blood PH in them, just urine.
Calcium was within range though. Is there anything else that might help?

Thanks for that information, I'm gonna look for the supplements you suggested. I was starting to get paranoid about the eye twitch, although it has not been happening nearly as often.
