Hey.

So I have a problem that I cannot seem to fix. I have an EVOD starter kit that I have been using for about six months. I around two months ago I started having a problem were after about 5 seconds the light on my EVOD starts blinking and it will not produce any more vapor. I have read about this for a while and I have not been able to find a solution.
The only thing that seems to work is to put a new coil in, however that only works for about 2 days then it also starts to blink. At this point I am going through about 5 coils a week as I use both of the EVOD's. I also buy the 2.5oms coils, is this apart of the problem.

Ultamatly I am very frustrated and I am not sure what I can do to make it work for more than a day

Both the batteries do this. And I don't have any other ones to see what happens.
Fortunately I have been keeping the coils, so if it is the battery then at least I will have 40 sum coils.
So I suppose my next diagnostic move is to order a new battery and see what happens with that.

Also I was wondering for coils which ohm should I pick 2.5, 2.2 or 1.8?
I have done some searching and I can't totally figure out what the difference is.

My daughter and I use Evods, and have found that we prefer the 2.2 and 1.8 ohm coils. We were not that crazy about the 2.5 ohm coils that came with the Evods. Also, are you getting genuine Kanger coils? We had gotten ourselves a couple of Evod clones, before we got the genuin Evods, and we did not care at all for the apparently "generic" coils that the clones came with. We now order coils from either Sun Vapers or Mt. Baker Vapor. I trust both places to send authentic Kanger products.

1 - AGREE about getting "real" Kanger coils, and both vendors mentioned
2 - Are these variable Ego batteries? If so, you can adjust for each resistance coil, but either way - that's PREFERENCE. I find that even if you CAN dial voltage up or down, that the lower resistance coils heat up a little faster, and let me get a slightly "hotter hit" - which I like. So I got the 1.8's. But a lot of people prefer higher - you really have to try both and see. If your battery is fixed voltage, and you wish it put out a little more, hit a little harder, then try a lower ohm coil.
3 - It DOES sound like a weak connection, or possibly both batteries dying - it does happen...

Paperclip or a metal toothpick or a knife tip - very gently pry "up" around the edges of the little round bit, seeing if you can raise it - just a tiny little bit might be the difference to connect right...

I clean the batteries and charger probably once a week.
I have no idea how I could move the center pin up, until now I was unaware that it moved.

Sometimes the center pin on the battery can get depressed if you tighten the tank onto the battery too much. Just finger tight is good. My daughter had a problem a couple of weeks ago with no vapor from one of her batteries. I used a yarn needle to gently go around the center pin and lift it up just slightly. It worked, and she is still using the battery.

I was having a similar problem with my original EVOD battery a few months ago. It turned out that my battery had gone bad. Apparently EVOD batteries aren't supposed to last all that long. Bought a new battery and everything was fine. As far as coils go, my wife and I both prefer the 1.8. We were using the 2.5 and were blowing through coils every other day. The 1.8 normally lasts a few weeks, longer if you actually care for them properly but truthfully I'm a little lazy in that department. For me it's simpler to toss and replace. Definitely make sure you're getting actual Kanger coils. We use discount vapers and buy them by the 5 pack. They have great products and pretty fast standard shipping for us. Hope this helps. :)

It seems the problem is back. I have two new battery's and they are still doing the same thing?

This may be a dumb question, but are you sure it isn't more than 5 seconds, and you're actually hitting the battery cut-off? Have you tried clicking the button 5 times to shut it off and turn it back on? Do you have another evod or something you could try on the batteries, to try to rule out whether it's some manufacturing weirdness in the tank?

If it isn't the batteries either going bad or having their 510 connections pushed down, as mentioned it's usually the coils becoming compressed and as things got hotter you lose the connection. I'd try turning the evod upside down, and using either a pair of tweezers or needle-nose pliers gently pull the little metal pin at the base of the coil down just a hair. Sometimes the insulator can get flattened out so you don't have enough length to make a connection, etc. You can do this with the coil out of the evod before you put it in, too.

I am new to vaping myself but if you purchased new batteries and new coils and the problem still remains than the common denominator would have to be your charger. Someone correct me if I am wrong but could a malfunctioning charger corrupt batteries?

Theoretically, yes -- as in render them either useless or really dangerous. I assumed he was just plugging them into the adapter that came with them each time, but you never know. I'd be surprised though based on what he's said so far, but stranger things have happened.
