EVOD battery charging woes, etc.

Rough day yesterday.. I only have 3 batteries.. 2 evod batteries from my starter kit I bought 10 days ago and an ego c-twist. I can't get the dang evod batteries to charge right. I put them on the chargers (2 different chargers which charge the twist fine )and either the light stays green, so i remove them and rescrew them into the charger again a few times until the light is finally red. But then, 10 minutes later they show fully charged green light again. So I throw a tank on and they are still almost dead. So basically I am down to the ego twist. (panic ensues). What could be the problem? I have had plenty-o-juice leak onto the batteries, not sure what else could be wrong. Any idea??

Thanks. I am also wondering if there might be juice build up on the contact. I have had plenty of floods and dabbed it clean as I could with paper towel. Could there be a dry juice film on it now? If so, how should I clean it? I thought of a damp q tip but i'm not sure if that's something I should do or not.

Use a q-tip lightly dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts. My Evods have held up to leaky tanks so far but if juice gets down inside it could ruin the battery. I think it's a little odd that both batteries are giving you problems at the same time.

If you are using a tank that is pushing the center pin down you could take a small screwdriver or tweezers to wiggle up the pin. Just be easy and wiggle one side then another all the way around the pin. Once you wiggle it some try putting them on the charger again. (I have to do this on my MVP2 on occasion.)

I just tried that, it does look like the pins may be down low, but they don't come up at all when I try to move them with a tiny screwdriver. They look flush with the inside base. Should they stand higher than that?

Mine look pretty flush. Whenever I "wiggle" the pin on my MVP2 it doesn't look like it's budged even a fraction of a mm, however it apparently raises it enough as tanks that weren't working suddenly do again.

Did you try charging after wiggling?

Just push a mini flat head screwdriver into the insulator a small amount and pry the contact pin up a tiny bit. It doesn't take much. I've only had one cheap knockoff Ego need this, which I don't use much anymore because I literally have to do it every time. You could try a different charger to see if the positive contact on yours is too low.

I just put it on the charger and it turned red. It is nearly dead, so will have to see if it charges properly (longer than 10 minutes). How long should it take to charge the evod from nearly dead to fully charged?

Mine take about 2 hours to charge when totally dead. Glad it's working for you! :)

The post trick should have worked, the post does not need to come up much. It's a common problem. Your battery should charge in 2-3 hours. If the battery doesn't charge I would try it again. I have always lifted on the center post from 3 different spots.
