eVic with IMR wont fire it up?

I have a fully functioning eVic i just bought, works awesome. Since I only got one battery with it and i can't vape while charging, i wanted to use one of my AW IMR 18650 3.7V 2000 mAh that I use on other devices, the battery is 100% charged and working on other devices, but when i put it in eVic it seems normal at beginning the unit powers up, shows battery as full, all perfect, but when u press to vape nothing, counts seconds and all but no vape, so i took of the cap of my tank and looked at the coil, and after like holding it for 7-8 seconds u might see like one streak of vapor, like tiny mist, like its putting out 1V or something and it needs like 1 minute to make the coil red burning. I read all over that these AW IMR should work perfect for eVic how come it doesn't for me anyone know please? oh and on both original and IMR battery i used 4 - 5V no difference on IMR.

ok guys i got some update on my issue, it seems the issue is not cause of IMR battery but because of 100% charged battery, even original battery does same at 100%, u got to keep pressing it for 20 minutes and when u hit 99 or so it starts working, anyone know why?

also how do i edit my post instead of replying to myself

i just noticed i can edit this post but not the original anymore is there a timer or something and why

ok i found the answer, but thx for your reply ;) it seems that evic is smart on it's protections, and one of the features is that if u have a atty/tank lower then 2.2 ohms it doesn't let u fire it up, u could if u force it by holding the button pressed over and over for long periods of time and might trigger it to fire up with a huge delay, and this only happens if battery is 100%-80% charged since then its most powerful and could possibly damage low res atty, if the battery drops to like 80% or below it then it lets u use low res attys  since im using rebuildable i'll make a coil at 2.2 or higher. that's it :vapor:

The EVIC low end is somewhere around 1.2 or 1.3 Ohms . I have even made a 1.0 ohm coil work on an EVIC 60% of the time.

I believe the issue was mentioned somewhere about possibly the battery being in an "overcharge" state. This may be the EVIC trying to protect itself from a possible dangerous battery. I have also not had any of the issues you described above with my EVIC on any of my 18350/18500/18650 batteries.

Funky, a bit off topic here, but how does your evic work with your aga-t?

I still have not gotten it to work the best yet, mostly due to not mastering building the coil yet. I have been plagued with a lot of bad taste lately. When I did have it working I had to take the full 10 seconds to get a good draw. That was on my internittently working 1.0 ohm coil (still don't know how it was working on the EVIC). I have hope for it still, but I need to use something better than mesh or silica. I am really hoping to find some BD13 ceramic wick when it finally comes out. Should give a cleaner flavor, less hot spots, and better wicking. I still need to try 28 gauge wire for the coil and different 500 mesh. I have only had 350 mesh and 32 gauge wire so far. I am planning on drilling the wick hole also.

there is no bad taste from ss mesh, you dont even need to master coiling it much either, i suck at making them and they workout good every time, i use old school setup 400x400 with 32g wire, i roll up wick skinny put it in, wrap like 5 wraps burn it couple times, adjust the wire little bit while wire is hot, moves easier then and i am done if wires are not touching i know it will work, usually run 1.7 - 2.2 ohms, what makes my coil always give a great taste is i tip it downwards 2 seconds before i start and while im vaping, so it always keeps the wick soaked, if i tend do do more chain puffs, to avoid getting it over soaked i level it out little bit so horizontal with floor and over time have developed this wave like motion so its always just perfectly soaked. you use upright position only when and if you do get it over soaked, that is the only thing u need to do, if i have it upright for 2 seconds when not over soaked it gives bad taste do to dry burn. it took me some time to figure this out but never, i mean never had a bad or dry burn taste since i incorporated my wave like movement. oh nd i assume u have airhole lined up with wick and both pointing down towards ground.

i did point the problem to battery being charged 100% not to resistance of coil, that has nothing to do with issue. its the battery but why, i tried multiple AW and original and same thing, oh what is overcharged battery i would believe there is only like either charged or uncharged , i mean it wasn't 101% or more ever, just perfect 100% if that is what u meant or are you referring to battery being like charged too many times so its past its cycles limits or that has been sitting on charger too long, i mean i am using the USB that came with it, the device shouldn't be doing that with all these protections.

And why can't you vape while you're charging? Mine works just fine while it charges.

who is this question exactly for? cause i don't see anyone even mentioning not being able to vape while its charging, correct me if im wrong. but either way ill answer on my behalf i got no issue on that as long as i don't have it charging on computer USB port i can vape all day long.
