Excellent ,,, these guys are on the ball.

eVic V1.1 Update
New feature:

1. Real VW adjustment
We change the option ‘Power set’ name to ‘Vapor set’. And then add option ‘VV’, ‘VW’ into sub-option ‘Switch’of ‘Power set’. When you choose ‘VV’ or ‘VW’, you are able to adjust voltage or wattage directly in the main interface.

2. Atomizer real time detection
Real time automatically resistance detecting,to guarantee you have a real Watt output and a real display information whenever you change one atomizer.

3. Wattage arrange modification
Due to hardware and software limitations, eVic cannot reach 15W. So we modified the range to 2-11W. And the range will change depend on the resistance. e.g. , when you use 2.1Ω, the range will be 4.2W-11W.

4. Fast voltage/wattage adjustment
In the main interface, turn the direction key in one direction three times fast, then voltage or wattage will be increased or decreased fast automatically. Turn the direction key in opposite direction to stop.

5. Warning temperature adjustment
We add sub-option 'Current ℃' and 'Alarm ℃' into option 'Temp ℃'. In 'Alarm ℃', you can adjust the warning temperature and decide when the overheating mark flashes.

Ok, weird thing. At first when i updated the software to 1.1, I couldnt go past 8.9W on my 2.8ohms atty. Then, for reasons unknown, I could go up to 11 W. "cool", I thought to myself, "just a little glitch, no problem". Then, i try to change the atomizer on top, and boom, i'm stuck to 8.9W again. huuum....
I put back the original atty (the one who allowed me to go up to 11W), and i'm STILL stucked at 8.9.

Anyone has the same issue?

Funny ... What all need to consider is the eVic is a computer. And it will have bugs. I would report this issue to the vendor you purchased it from and the vendor will forward operating system bugs to Joyetech.

I suggest that the interim solution is to reboot it !!!

The madness continues! If I re-plug my evic on my computer and re-upgrade it, I can go to 11Watts no problem. If i unscrew the atty again and put it back on, i get the 8.9W limitation again.

After speaking with my good friend/vendor, I think that this is a little glitch, and that the amp limitation can and will be upgraded, but not on this particular version. Since I can get to 11W on my 2.8ohms carto (but then can't if i unscrew the carto and let the evic actually read it's resistance), that leads me to believe this will be fixed in a new update. This is weird X 2

I don't seem to have any trouble with the update. Currently have a 2ohm carto and have removed and re-attached it, has no problem maintaining 11W output. I do notice that the voltage setting is very slightly off given the set wattage; 11W on a 2ohm carto sets it to 4.6V (10.5W) rather than 4.7V (11W).

Realtime atty detection and voltage adjustment works fine, so that's good -- it's finally true VW now, which makes it much more attractive.

The "auto-scroll" method is ridiculous. Flick three times in a direction and it'll start to auto-scroll. Why, oh why did they just not set it to auto-scroll by holding in one direction? And not just in wattage, but in every menu? Look, Joyetech, I'd like to introduce you to a nice fellow, his name is Sir William of Ockham. He'd like to show you his razor.

Well, it's a start, anyway. There are still some things they need to address, but one of the biggies has been taken care of.

Keeper, I think the reason it seems to be misbehaving for you is the software voltage limit. The eVic is limited to 5V in VV mode. 5V on a 2.8ohm carto works out to 8.9W; in order to get 11W the eVic would need to set the voltage to 5.5V, but Joyetech have currently limited it to 5V. I hope that's the next thing they address, because this thing is useless for SR and HV atties.

Figures the update would come out right after I gave up on the eVic and bought the Vamo. It still seems like there's some bugs though, so maybe in a month or so I'll have the money to blow, depending on reviewers are saying.

Are you going to be including the 1.1 firmware in your review Mindfield ?

 Perhaps they didn't want to frustrate people with it auto-scrolling. It should auto-scroll after being held in the position for 2-3 seconds if nothing else, that would allow for single adjustments as well.

Yes. Since I haven't filmed the review yet I'll be talking about the 1.0 and 1.1 differences from a practical standpoint, though by this point most people who get an eVic will likely be getting a 1.0 and will upgrade to 1.1. (However they really need to create a simple installer that copies the .bin to the proper directory for them for those users that aren't so comfortable tooling around folders. Although I suspect that if someone feels comfortable enough with their technical acumen to buy an eVic in the first place this probably isn't an issue.)

I don't think it would frustrate people. Push-and-hold to auto scroll has been part of just about any settable electronics since at least the 80s. My first LED clock radio worked that way. So I'd think twist-and-hold would be perfectly intuitive to pretty much everyone, you just add in a 1-2 second delay between one tick and auto scroll.

Well, I received my pair of eVics this morning, threw the supplied batteries on the charger, put in my existing aw IMR 18650 batteries, downloaded and installed the MVR software and updated to firmware 1.1

I gotta say - this is how every VV / VW mod should work. I love having an OLED display that shows me everything I would want to know wit a single glance of the screen. Having this level of control over every aspect of your vape through a logical menu system using real English words is a pleasure after the "clickity-click, what does this code mean?" Interface of provari, zmax, vamo et al.

Got it. Had errors everywhere. Had to restore to factory settings, delete downloads, restart computer, reinstall, move the file and off it went.
PS I found your video. Thanks it helped a lot.

Cool! Glad you got it going....now we wait for 2.0 :)

I just installed the 1.1 version. The overheat (thermometer) indicated started flashing. I found that the alarm setting had been changed by the firmware upgrade to 0.0 C. Kinda odd. But, after changing it to 38 C, the flashing stopped. I have no idea if 100 F is where it should be ... I'll find out soon enough if that's high enough.

I wonder what other surprises the upgrade has in store for me.\

PS: Sorry, I'm not Canadian. I found this thread through an ECF Forum search on the subject. Didn't notice I was in the Canadian sub-forum until after I posted.
