Everclear Alternatives

Hey guys. I live in the "great" state of PA, which doesn't allow for the sale of Everclear or other types of high proof alcohol, but I have seen it used in many different DIY recipes. I've tried vodka before but it hasn't given me the best results. Does anyone have any ideas on how to emulate the qualities that Everclear can add to a juice without actually using it or pure grain alcohol?

I live in MI, where you can't buy Everclear either - at least in PA you can get a permit to buy it as long as you promise not to drink it

And - you have to order it.

That's Everclear 151 and it's sold just about everywhere. You can't buy PGA in Michigan without a license and I don't think you can buy 190 proof Everclear at all.

I just checked Michigan's state liquor price list and you can't buy that here either

Michigan has a monopoly on wholesale alcohol sales - if you sell hard liquor in this state you have to buy it *from* the state. They mark up the price 65% and add four separate taxes plus a 6% sales tax. They also have a minimum price list - you can't sell hard liquor in Michigan for less than the state-mandated minimum price.

Stupid law if you ask me.

There's an ANG base close to where I work - I have a DoD ID but don't have PX privileges

Nope. I'm a DoD civilian and we're not allowed in the Class VI store

If I was overseas I could - but not in CONUS, I'm afraid.
