Hey guys. I live in the "great" state of PA, which doesn't allow for the sale of Everclear or other types of high proof alcohol, but I have seen it used in many different DIY recipes. I've tried vodka before but it hasn't given me the best results. Does anyone have any ideas on how to emulate the qualities that Everclear can add to a juice without actually using it or pure grain alcohol?

Actually, you can buy Everclear in Michigan. About $8 for a fifth.

That's Everclear 151 and it's sold just about everywhere. You can't buy PGA in Michigan without a license and I don't think you can buy 190 proof Everclear at all.

I guess I should have been a little more accurate when I posted. Sorry about that ;)

In ny I use devil's springs 160 proof vodka.

I just checked Michigan's state liquor price list and you can't buy that here either :(

Michigan has a monopoly on wholesale alcohol sales - if you sell hard liquor in this state you have to buy it *from* the state. They mark up the price 65% and add four separate taxes plus a 6% sales tax. They also have a minimum price list - you can't sell hard liquor in Michigan for less than the state-mandated minimum price.

Stupid law if you ask me.
