Hey I am having a problem with my eleaf istick. it says atomizer short when any tank is attached(with the 510 adapter). it works without the adapter with my nautilus, but most of my tanks use that adapter. Any suggestions?? thanks!! also one more question kind of off topic, but why does my istick produce more vapor and hit harder than a pen at the same voltage same tank? Thanks again!

Can't answer your first question.

As to the second, there are a lot of VV batteries that you can "set" to a specific voltage. Whether the battery can actually deliver that voltage into the head you have though, is not guaranteed. The istick probably hits harder because it's actually capable of delivering enough current to drive the head at the voltage you asked for.

The istick also on average seems to run about 1 volt hotter then most other devices. This is because it runs strictly in mean mode, while most devices run in something called RMS. So as a general rule of thumb remember the istick runs around a volt otter then you are used to.

As for the shorting issue, I am not sure. Could the adapter need to be cleaned perhaps?

I have confirmed it is this adapter, but not sure how to clean it. I hate to have the hassle to just buy another, and worried it'll happen again. I've only had this a few weeks.

Hi, undergorund and welcome to ECF!

If you've only had it for a few weeks, I'd suggest contacting the vendor. Most vendors are very good about warranty issues. It could just be a manufacturing flaw on that one.

If you bought it from a B&M (Brick and Mortar - i.e., a store), then take it in and let them look at it. As a matter of fact, even if you didn't buy it at a B&M, but have one nearby, I'd bet they'd help you out by at least looking at it and letting you know what's wrong, if not actually replacing it from their stock. Stores sometimes do that, because they can handle the exchange from the manufacturer if it's a manufacturing defect.

Anyway, good luck with it and Happy Vaping!)

Yes I did buy it at a B&M, I just brought it in today and they told me the pin was pressed down and they told me whenever that happens to use a needle to pry it up a bit but seems like a hassle if I'm out and about. It happened again when I got home, and I think it has something to do with the 510 adapter. I'm not tightening down too much. So I pried it up, took off the adapter and screwed down my nautlius mini a few times and no problem, yet. The only way I can have the adapter on, is when it's not even snug and it's wobbly. I might be forced to just use it with non ego type tanks. Oh well I guess. Thanks for the help btw!!!

Eleaf iStick Bending Adapter is the first thing I bought to go on my iStick. It will allow you to screw the adaptor into your bending adapter without damaging the threads on either. It also has a spring loaded pin to prevent those issues.

After reading about the issues with the weak threads and the pin being pressed, I bought the bending adapter before I even used my iStick for the first time.

It's an option for you, I know it's another $5 plus shipping though.

It seems the center pin of the included adapter is pressed into some material to isolate it from the sides. Its possible they tore the material when pushing the pin in. Do you have a meter so you can confirm? Do you get a short with the adapter screwed on but no tank?
With a screwdriver that pin in the adapter should spin freely. With a good amount of force I could only get it to move up and down a few mm.

I pushed the pin on the isitck itself way down with the Subtank but never got a short. I did have to pull the pin back up before it would work with any of my 510 tanks.
