Well I stumbled upon these forums when I was looking for some help as a complete newbie to vaping and everyone was incredibly helpful, I thought I'd try to contribute a little and help out some other newbies by writing a little review of what I got and how it's working out.
First off a little back story!
I've been smoking 20 a day for about 10 years now and whilst I've looked into e-cigs before they always seemed a bit rubbish and the ones I tried (normally cheap ones someone had picked up in a garage) were absolutely awful. Recently the cost of smoking 20 B+H gold a day was starting to annoy me so I looked into the whole vape option again.
At first it's quite a scary thing to research, the majority of the FAQ's I read didn't really help and even the youtube videos were overly complicated for what I wanted to know. I did some poking around on these forums and got the answers to most of my questions and from reading people's opinions on various products I was able to work out what would be good for me.
So after finally understanding a needed a battery to power it and a cartomiser to get the vapour I set off to the safer cigs website because I'd read a lot of positive responses regarding their products and customer services.
Unsure about what strength I'd be needing and worried about not getting my beloved throat hit I settled on a Ego Twist battery and they had a nice starter kit that included 2 Vision Ego cartomisers for £34. Chucked in some RY5 juice and I was on my way!
I was initially weary about somehow breaking my new toy or not getting it to work so I emailed Darren at safer cigs and in all fairness he answered my now obvious questions incredibly quickly and in a manner I could understand. Simply poor the liquid into the chamber avoiding the hole in the middle and off you go! Took me a couple of toots on it to get the hang of vaping by the liquid tasted fantastic and if anything it was stronger than my normal cigarettes so I was instantly a happy camper.
Seriously, I cannot stress enough how easy this thing was to set up and how good it actually is. I'm a fairly die hard smoker and I had zero intentions of using this as a tool to quit, I was simply looking for a cheaper alternative because I find myself chain smoking at night when I read. Since firing this bad boy up I've had 2 normal cigarettes, one before bed last night just to make a comparison and another in work this morning because I'd foolishly left my device in the office. Both times I found myself wishing I'd used my vaporiser instead so it would appear I'm unwittingly giving up cigarettes!
Bit the bullet and ordered a load of the cartomisers (really good deal, ended up paying about £2.50 for each one) and a load of different flavours to try out. So to sum it all up, it looks great, tastes great, feels great, saves me a load of money, apparently it's healthier and even a ..... like me got it all set up and working with no hassle.
My other half will be trying out a menthol flavour tomorrow and then she'll probably make the switch too, going to save us about £400 per month (which surely now I can spend on booze?).
Could not recommend more, both the product and safer cigs service. Top notch.
