eGo One 2200mAh Battery Voltage

Bought an eGo One (2.5ml tank/2200mAh battery), iStick 30W and Kanger Subohn Mini yesterday. Interested to know what voltage of the new eGo One batteries are running at? Specifically the 2200mAh version.

I've looked at the tech specs on the Joyetech website, no mention of battery voltage. The only clue I can find is in the manual and that is that the low voltage protection cuts in at 3.3 volts, approximately 22 Watts. I've checked through the eGo One thread here and there is mention of it running at 35W which is approximately 4.2 volts. Maybe I've answered my own question, but it would be nice to know.

I'm using some 9ml 50/50 strawberry juice that I bought yesterday with the 0.5 Ohm coil. I primed and soaked for 10 minutes and I get a savage throat hit whether halfway or full open; unbearable really with not much flavour. When I put it on the iStick 30W, yesterday it read at 0.4 Ohms, today at 0.4 (not sure how relevant that is, just trying to give you guys all the facts). So if I run the it on the iStick at 20W-0.4Ω-2.8V, I get a reasonable vape, tasty and zero throat hit with plenty of vapour. At 25W-0.4Ω-3.1V and a 6 second lung hit I'm getting a bit of a throat hit but the flavour is still ok. Not really prepared to push the iStick to 30W until my throat settles down.

Clearly I need better juice, preferably with more VG, but until I get that happening it looks like the eGo One battery is going to sit idle.

Should I try the 1.0Ω coil until I get some better juice? Pity that the guys in the shop didn't have the 1.0Ω coils in stock.

The ego one runs at 4.2 volts all the way down to 3.3 volts. So your watts will be determined by where your battery and the coil heads. As for the throat hit, this is probably due too using .4 ohm coil heads. If you have been using higher ohm coils, you have been getting less vapor probably. So now that you are getting bigger clouds, you are getting more nicotine as well. Usually people use half the nicotine in a setup like this, or they drop it down to around 6mg.

Thanks guys, you have both confirmed my thoughts. Need to get some juice, looking at Mount Baker varieties. In the meantime I am using the eGo One tank on my iStick 30W at 20W, and enjoying it. When I finish the 0.5 Ohm coil I will drop in the 1 Ohm and see how it goes on the eGo battery.

The only other comment I have to make is that it is difficult to see the juice level through the 3 slots, so I'm refilling regularly.

I'm a big fan of ego one due to size and looks. Didn't think of measuring it's output. But using 1ohm or higher definitely produces a better quality vape than 0.5 ohm. I'm using both 2200 and 1100. Same issues as you do with 0.5 ohms. You could just rewick the 0.5 ohm to 1 ohm with kanthal A1 wires. I do that with mine. 10 coils with Kanthal A1 28ga reading comes to about 1.2-1.3 ohms on my tester. However, Juices taste ALOT much better than using stock wiring.

Yep. Your wattage info is right. Depending on the voltage left in the battery, you'll get between 21.7 and 35.2 watts, so to speak... minus any inherent loss due to voltage drops. Insofar as the juice is concerned, the Ego One 0.5 ohm heads don't handle with thin or up to 50/50 juices ideally. They wick fine, but your throat hit will be pretty powerful with some wispier vapor. More VG is needed. That's not a sub ohm thing, though, as my Ego One battery with my Subtank Nano at 0.5 ohms chucks out great vapor and flavor pretty much no matter what juice I use. Even max PG produces good vapor, even though the tank drinks the stuff rapidly. It's all about the atomizer head and how it handles the juice. If throat hit is an issue, do consider dropping your nic level. I personally never sub ohm more than 2 or 3 mg... just too much.

Hey, how did the Kanger Subtank and ego one setup work out with the new juice? I have a similar setup and getting the same savage throat hit you mentioned. It's waay too hot, even on full air flow.

Here's my thread >> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-question-about-battery-tank-combination.html

Once I got myself some high VG 6ml juice the EGO One with the 0.5 ohm coil became a winner for me, so I could permanently match my Subtank Mini with the iStick 30W. two days ago I dropped the 1.0 Ohm coil in with some 12mg 50/50 juice and while I find it a little too tight for mouth to lung hits I am not suffering nasty throat hits.

So all is good with the Ego One.

Oh and they have just posted on their website a rebuildable head.

Glad to hear it! So just to be clear, sounds like you're using the Subtank mini with the iStick 30W? And not with the Ego One battery...

If that's the case, are you using the eGo one tank with the eGo one battery?

Thanks...
