Check Mooch's battery tests in the battery subforum. Efests and other rewraps generally have highly inflated specs. Furthermore, it's common that the battery under the wrapper is changed depending on what batteries the rewrapers get ahold of, meaning that you could have two of the "same" batteries with very different specs. Buy authentic Sony, Samsung, or LG batteries from trusted vendors.

Sure

"Don't use Efest batteries. They are rewrapped seconds. Use quality batteries (LG, Samsung, or Sony batteries. Heard good things about Aspire batteries)."
You almost had it..

Aspire are also rewraps.. bought a few a while back as the store only had those... a waste of money as not one was the same as the next one... some lasted "decently", others died within a few months or just wouldn't hold a decent charge.

Seriously... stick to brand names, get them from reputable dealer as there are fakes out there.

The difference in prices is very small anyways.

Rule of thumb when it comes to batteries, brands don't matter.

Nike makes a good shoe and is well known so is Aspire and e-Fest yet they re-wrap batteries from other battery manufacturers.

Buy batteries from battery manufacturers, (LG, Sony, Samsung, etc...) these guys produce the very cells they distribute to sell, they in-house test everything and you'll consistently know what you get! Also be wary that just like every other brand in almost every industry there are counterfeits! Buy from reputable authorized dealers that put their name behind whether your 10 dollar battery is real or fake.

Good reputable dealers: (No probability of fakes)
Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!
Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Vapor

Bad ones: (High probability of fakes)
e-Bay
Amazon
momandpopbatteries.com (Hint: this website doesn't actually exist, you get the idea.)

Not all Amazon and e-Bay sellers sell counterfeits agreed but some do and seperating the ones that do and don't is going to be hard, extremely hard! So avoid that headache all together and go to a source that prides itself of selling nothing but the best.

Efest batteries are cost effective, and are appealing because of that. Unfortunately, when dealing with high-discharge batteries such as size 18650 I'd rather spend more coin knowing I'm getting something new, and genuine, rather than something that may have come out of an old power drill in a landfill.

I've seen Efest batteries offered for prices above a decent Samsung or LG battery, especially when ordering from Illum or IMR. I pay $4-5 (depends on sale) and I've seen Efests offered for more. That's real insult added to the injury.

Aspire batteries are hit or miss, same as e-Fest they're inconsistent and not always from the same source.

You may buy 2 from the same vendor at the sametime and get 2 completely different re-wraps nothing wrong with Aspire at all but there is no such thing as an Aspire battery just an Aspire wrapper.

You "could" get good batteries from both. You might get lucky and get a 20amp battery but at the sametime you could get unlucky and get a 10amp battery. It's like playing russian roulette.

Hmm... I guess I've been very lucky then. I have at least 4 pairs (8 batteries) that are e-fest 2500mah 35amp that are more than 1years old and have never had an issue with them. I've used them in mechs, custom boxes that I've built and production PV's (segeli, eleaf, smok). I've only purchased batteries from amazon once and that was enough to let me know not to do it again. A pair of supposedly samsungs that lasted maybe 5 weeks before they refused to charge anymore. Since then I've only purchased batteries from 101vape. I'm not saying that claims about efest here are unfounded, just stating that I am one of the lucky few possibly that have not had problems with them and ones source of purchase is key!

Efest doesn't make a 35 amp battery, they may advertise a 35 amp pulse discharge rating (which is deceiving)! I've even seen them make claims of up to an 80amp pulse rating which is so laughable the battery even just pulsing at that rate would permanently scar the cell. The true continuous "CDR" discharge rating of the best efest rewraps can offer is 20 amps.

You can search right on this forum for that:
New Efest 35amp continuous discharge batteries?

Only reason I keep bringing this up is because I know some people who actually build that low and the battery is truly not rated for anything above 20 amps.

I get that and agree because I have also looked it up. That said, I have not had any issues with the efest that I have even down to .14ohms... Now this is not where I regularly vape which is typically .4 - .8. The service life is not more than a couple of hours of continuous vaping at .1 but I've had no issues. Also I typically don't vape at more than 50w because there is no need for me to do so. Since I started following Mooche's battery chart I've been buying LG's and have been happy but my efest's are still in rotation.
