¯\_(ツ)_/¯
When are manufacturers going to realize that no one cares about a puff counter on their mod display or menu?

On the contrary, there are many vapers that like to keep track of their puffs. I don't, but it's one feature that, when not included in firmware, many vapers complain about. For some it's a way to keep track of how much they vape and for others it's about seeing how many puffs a battery will last for before needing charging.

A simple counter that records the number of times a button is pressed is pretty much a useless feature. A counter that records the duration of time would be nice. Most people would be surprised at how little actual vaping time is available from a typical 18650 battery... 20 minutes anyone ?

It's a very handy feature on a mod for anyone that wants to sell their mod, the person purchasing a second hand mod wants to know the amount of puffs the mod has had most of the time:)

I've heard that before but never understood the logic since puff counters can easily be reset.

Is this sarcasm? If it is please disregard what i write next.

Curious to know, when were you appointed as a spokesperson for ALL vapers in the world?
Was there some sort of election process where we ALL decided that you would speak for us?
Oh wait no there wasn't,you are just one person and as such whatever you think in regards to a vaping feature in a mod is just your opinion and yours alone.

Maybe you have conducted some sort of survey where you asked the question ¿are puff counters on mods dumb? to ALL the vapers in the world,if that is the case i would like to see some paperwork with clear results on that matter.
If after a quick study i see that you have indeed spoken to all the vapers in the world and conducted a thorough survey i will formally apologize and retract my previous statement.

Have a nice day :)

As a long time vaper you should know that battery duration depends on a lot of factors, type of coil, type of vaping style, wattage used...hard to believe you would make a statement like that.

If i am not wrong cause my memory is bad I think vaporesso gen the with the old firmware used to record also total time duration of all puffs and not just the number the button was pressed.

As a new vaper i wanted to look at my puffs now i never look at them but i think the total duration of puffs is a great way to measure how much your battery last assuming u use same wattage and coil and everything.

But i think this was on old firmwares because now they added some wierd bars that supposed to be days of the week that u cant really adjust and it sucks.

But ok i dont think its bad thing u have a puff counter u can also know if someone used your vape device while it was unattended hahahahah

When I read the title of this thread I thought it was about puff counters that reset when the battery is changed, versus ones that keep track perpetually unless you reset them.

"Smart" puff counters that don't reset are handy in that they show you how durable a mod is. I had a mod cross 100K puffs before being dropped in a bonfire. At least I know it lived a productive life!

I never used to use a puff counter but now I do sometimes to compare battery usage between two mods running the same build/wattage.
I find it interesting.

Some use puff counters as a way of keeping track of their nic usage. Not my bag but I'm not here to judge.

Keep em I say

Folks with DNA mods prefer to preserve the puff count for if/when they sell their mod. Low puff count = a mod that wasn't used much.

FWIW, the puff counter can be zeroed out, but only via Escribe. If a user resets the puff counter Escribe will state that it has been reset.

DNA owners usually leave the puff counter as is. By default it is not displayed on any DNA mod.
