The drops per ml has to many variables to be accurate, it may get you in the ballpark but not on the money. Every liquid has a different thickness and therefore different size drops even from the same dropper. I have measured from 26 to 47 drops per ml with the same dropper. Wish it did work that way would certainly make mixing easier. Good Luck.

Anyone knows a good graded dropper ?

It doesn't work that way. Drop size depends on liquid viscosity and to some extent the dropper device as well. So there is no, to my knowledge, calibrated drop generators. If you are diluting 100 mg liquid for vaping using drops, this could be a real problem. Graduated syringes are cheap, fast, safe, and very accurate. True, some flavorings, like tobacco absolute, might be so strong that one drop per batch is all that is needed, but for the most part its just better to use syringes.

If I'm making a 15 ml batch, it's a lot easier to fill syringes than it is to count to 300.

I would agree with that.

What would happen if you Measured the Nicotine Base, PG and VG by "Dropping" it into a Graduated Cylinder and then Added you Flavoring with Drops? If the Drops for the Flavor came from the Same Dropper Bottle Every Time then the Drop Size would be the Same. So wouldn't this Technique be Accurate an Repeatable?

And there would only be One thing to Wash when you are Done. The Graduated Cylinder.

I have an even Simpler Method. It requires Basically No Washing of Anything.

But I'll save that for later after the Anti-Drop Crowd Rips the above Technique to Shreds.

Definitely go with a nice syringe. You can get excellent glass and metal ones for under $10.00 and there is next to nothing left in them afterwards. That or a pyrex beaker. You can get tiny 5ml ones with incremental markings that are very accurate and just drop in the liquid to make sure it stays accurate.

Definitely consider a nice syringe with a wider gauged tip though. You'll love it.

I only use a bulb dropper when mixing small (3-5ml) test batches. But I use the same dropper for nic/PG/VG/flavor. I take notes and edit the recipe numbers as I adjust the mix to my taste. Once I accept the adjusted recipe, I then convert to percentages for larger batches. I've yet to notice any detectable taste difference twix the dropper and syringe/cylinder methods.

You can get those electronic pipettes they use in labs - Air displacement pipette - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not really suitable for most DIYers though :)

I've always been pretty strict about not using drops for measurement...but I've gotten lazy lately and have found it can produce acceptable results if done properly in the right situations.

I haven't seen pipettes mentioned in the various suggestions... Are they not popular as an easy, disposable DIY tool?

I'm just getting started myself (going to mix up my first batches before I go to bed), so these tips will definitely come in handy.
I have 3 and 5 ml pipettes, a few 18 guage 5 ml syringes and a bunch of soft plastic dropper bottles (not the really clear, harder ones).
I will be using different things with different viscosities (PG, VG, flavour concentrates, diluted single molecules, etc.), so the "drops per ml" will vary quite a bit.

The diluted molecules will still only be usable up to about 1 or two drops per 10 ml (if a drop is 1/25 of a ml from a dropper bottle... I'm hoping it's close enough).

So, anyway... pipettes = no good?
And will VG work with a syringe?! It's pretty thick stuff, isn't it?
Because I have a bunch of them and I was really planning on using them.

Cheers! :toast:

One question...

Are you going to want to make the Same mg level and the Same PG|VG ratio when you DIY?
