My batts are all autos (PT also).

I find that taking primer draws and then a double draw each times gives me a good TH and vapor production.. "Tailpiping" seems to make me caugh most of the time or irritates my throat.

I can single draw for about 9 seconds and still get a decent vape and TH, but not like an analog comparison like the double draw vape.

Am I making sense or its also subjective like flavors are?

Pretty much everything is subjective .. outside of the actual intended operation of the equipment.

The simple fact is that the variation of taste and feel in comparison from smokers that have smoked analogs for varying lengths of time, type of tobacco smoked, class of tobacco smoked, and strength of the analog ( full flavor, light, ultra-light, and so on).

These all play a part in how the TH seems to you and even how your juice taste. The funny thing is.... once you have been vaping and you re-gain the sense of smell and taste.. That kick-... vaping machine that most praise from the beginning may change, as well. It is odd, but there have been many folks here that found that they could no longer agree with what they started with and turned around to find what suited them at that particular point. I personally am not at that point yet, I have noticed a lot of my smell coming back and a faint cry of taste. I have experimented with various other e-cigs.. from friends that were nice enough to lend me a sample day, if you will ( better than buying only to find I was not at that point yet and just curious if I missed the change in my senses.. If that makes sense).

I certainly hope you stick with it and happy vaping, my friend.

I do both direct inhaling straight into the lungs, which tend to be longer harder drags, and drawing it into my mouth before inhaling, which tend to be shorter and gentler drags. Just depends what I feel like at the moment.

Direct inhaling is great for more throat kick, and more of a nicotine rush; drawing it into the mouth first tends to be better for flavor, and for playing with the vapor.

edbaar, that was my issue with the autos... i liked them at first because they were 'more like smoking' but i find with the man'ls that i am able to do long, slow, more comfy (and vaporful) draws without finding myself overdoing it. not that there's anything amiss with how the autos work, just something about them triggered that reaction in *me*. i think perhaps because the man'ls draw warmer?

that's exactly how i do it, too. with the exception of the PT that took me literally 3 days to get the hang of, and i still get more vape clouds off my batts than the PT.

that said (and speaking of manuals) i will probably have a lot of questions/general flailing hands moments when i get my XL manual, haha. it'll decide if it's the 'manual' aspect i'm having trouble with, or the PT itself (my PT is manual) as to how i'm able to do my vape drags or not.

for me it depends on flavors, too. the softer/lighter flavors i can direct inhale into the lungs, and almost *need* to. the stronger flavors, not so much.

I discovered a neat trick with an 801 auto The switch comes on for both blow and suck.
You can puff very very slightly into the guy to get it sizzling then take a nice warm hit.
Primer puffs don't always taste very good, because the temp isn't up yet. By puffing into the cig you don't need to exhale the primer puff before taking a hit or dilute your hit with the primer puff. For a similar reason with my SB I press the switch for 1/2 to 1 second before htting. What I've discovered is you want the temp just right. Too cool or hot tastes skanky. For instance 510 tastes good at 3.7v. 801 tastes good at 5V and both get a little burnt at 6v. 801 is a little cool and underflavored at 3.7v. Smoking to different e-cigs in alternation allows one to rewick while you hit the other. Too much vaping in one session can make the cart seem dry, but really it just needs to catch up.
Sometimes it doesn't need more liquid which in fact would screw it up, but it needs a rest. Alternating two cigs is great because one is bound to be tasting better than the other at any given time.

all my batts thus far (with the exception of one) are man's....
with those... just mouth fill then inhale...

the one auto i have (an xl),
i NEVER take a primer puff......dont want to waste the vape!
i take a full mouth of vaper, then inhale (its not the best hit at first but it works)
then immediately after, i do the same exact thing....
except the second hit is fffffffaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr more satisfying!
and no wasted vapor!
