Yes, I do charge mine while sleeping, if it isn't charged before I decide I'm going to sleep for a while, then it stays on the charger. I know, slim chance it might have a problem but, then my other devices that charge while I sleep might too, the a/c or heater, still plugged in this or that, etc... might too.

Bigger chance of a coyote, raccoon, snake or, fox getting into my bird outside than a charging accident while I sleep.

Always charge mine while sleeping (regular 650 eGos). Keep the charger right under the bed next to my Kindle Fire & phone charger. probably not the best idea to have a bunch of lipo batteries charging right underneath my head, but what the hell.

Strangely enough, I'm probably one of the few people who has actually had a lipo catch fire on them. It wasn't an e-cig battery tho; it was a small lipo from one of my RC planes. Smelled something burning in my office one day, came out here & one of my little foamy Air Hogs (of which I have dozens) was smoking & melting on the shelf. it wasn't even charging at the time...so it CAN happen.

I have two 18650's, one in my PV and the other in the charger. I usually swap them in the morning. I haven't used my eGo batteries in at least a year. They're probably all dead as a hammer. Reading this thread, I now see that one of my pass-thrus is sitting on my desk plugged into a usb hub. So that one might work, or it may be toast from age.

Yep but I don't use cheap junk batteries that have a fake wrapper on them or cheap chargers like 90% of the people on this forum. Most people see "protected" batteries and think they are safe. They don't know that good batteries have internal protection that the cheap ones don't. I wouldn't own a xxxxfire battery let alone leave it charging overnight.

Yep. And my phone. And my Kindle. And my camera. And my MP3. And my toothbrush. And my hair clippers.......
There is nothing wrong with being vigilant but sometimes we have to trust that the manufacturers have built an item to function as it should.
I also leave 90% of my electrical items on standby when i'm not using them. My house alarm is on permanently as is my microwave, cooker and stereo.
Just don't buy $1.99 batteries from dodgy sellers.
