I know, I know...I've said over and over...if it's a NO-SMOKING place, I don't vape. Just wondering about No Smoking Hotels? We are heading to the Mountains in a few days, and of course, the hotel rooms are Non Smoking rooms. The room we'll have has a Balcony, so no biggie really, we'll just go out on it to vape...but was just wondering if Y'all vape in Non Smoking Rooms?

Trying to Edit the Subject line for misspelling..can't figure out how to do it...can you do that??

Don't think so. We'll just have to make fun of you now.

As for the room I'd say go for it. As long as there's ventilation it shouldn't be an issue. If any problems come up tell them you have a sleeping disorder and that scented candles help you go nite nite.

I have only stayed in one hotel room since I started vaping and, yes, I vaped almost all the time I was awake in that room. It's certain that I'm not bothering anyone else by doing it and left nothing behind other than a faint odour of absinthe.

I also vape in rental cars ($250 "cleaning charge" for smoking, or something like that). I'll happily pay that fine if anyone can prove I left smoke in the car to be cleaned.

You bet I would! And not in the balcony, unless I felt like it... Come on, I can understand no-smoking rules, bacause someone else is going to be in that room later, and non-smoking people will not feel comfortable with the lingering tobacco smell... but vaping? Really? Unless I was using a very strong, scented juice (Which I don't, anyway), I would just vape to my heart content, and no-one would be the wiser the next day. Non-vaping policies are illogical and unfair, because vaping is not smoking. I believe I have the right to ficht back an illogical and unfair policy, especially when there's no way to enforce it...! Again, if you don't use a strong liquid, that may leave some lingering smell, the only way to enforce such a policy was if all of a sudden some 'security guy' broke into your room, and actually cought you red-handed, right? I would love to see that happen...

I do. If you do, just be sure to hide your vaping gear when you are not in the room. A while back there was a lady posting here that got hit with a smoking fee from Marriott when a cleaning person found her e-cig. At that time Marriott didn't have a 'no vaping' policy (iirc), but she still had problems, and I can't remember if she ever got the charges reversed.

Just because you HAVE something, doesn't prove you USED it. Housekeeping could find an entire pack of cigarettes,,,,,,doesn't mean someone smoked in the room,,,,they might have stepped outside to smoke.

I worked in a hotel for years (front desk),,,,,,,and cigarette smoke LINGERS for HOURS. You can tell, anyone who doesn't smoke can tell, and there's really no doubt about it,,,,,,

Vaping, OTOH,,,,,,,,,,,,leaves nothing in the air HOURS afterwards,,,,,,

YES, I'd vape in a hotel room. So fast your head would spin.

Well...we may just do it then! I'll have to tell hubby to leave his "Real Cig" juice at home! It's that SC flavoring from Vaping Zone...and oh my goodness! Not only does that taste just like you licked an ash tray three times over...but it smells JUST LIKE A REAL CIG! I won't let him Vape it in the house...it probably won't linger and "stick" to every thing like a Real Cig does...but after all the hours I spent deep cleaning this house, once we started Vaping....I don't want to take the chance!

I've been real good about not Vaping where a person can't smoke...but it would be nice to finally stay in a Hotel and Vape, instead of having to go all the way outside to Smoke.

I posted a link to the thread where it was discussed. I'm not saying it's right, just saying the OP could potentially avoid a hassle by making sure the hotel has no excuse to slap an extra charge on the room that would take a while to dispute. I just skimmed through the thread I posted, and it seems that the hotel claimed they could smell smoke and found an electronic cigarette. They claimed the room would have to be cleaned which would cost them money.

I have stayed in several hotels since starting vaping. The first time i stayed in one, i asked before i vaped, and the staff told me to feel free as long as it did not leave a lingering odor. Since then i don't ask, but vape away in the room. I have not had any issues with it. I only vape in the room though, not in the lobby, resturant, halways, etc.

Since your are a stickler for only vaping in smoking areas, aren't you concerned that you could be harming others or bothering the next person using that room? You could vape in the room and leave and then 5 minutes later the maid could come in. What if it effects that maid?

If you believe that we should act like vaping is the same as smoking and should be considered the same as smoking, then vaping in a non-smoking room would appear to be hypocritical. If you asked the hotel management if it was alright to vape in their non-smoking room, what do you think they would say?

I don't think she said she refrained from vaping in no smoking areas out of concern for others health.

You could argue the same point about scented toiletries.
