I'm not a fan of Reddit myself. I don't go there. However, if it was a true story, it points out the potential danger of using oil based flavoring agents from the grocery store shelf. Key word "oil". No different than the idiots who used vitamin E acetate to cut their black market THC.
Sometimes I think we are a little too quick to call out ignorant behavior as trolling on message boards. Reddit is notorious for this.
The user has never posted on the e-cig portion before. Claims 2 visits to ER prior to posting his question. Knows there is oil within the extract, and is intelligent enough to link to vit-e acetate injuries, but yet still inhales peppermint extract. Other members are asking logical questions to which he is ignoring but insists on arguing with those who do not believe him. That’s got TROLL written all over it
If there is any fact to the story, I doubt it was the oil. The lung injury must be proportional to the amount of oil inhaled. How much oil is in 3 drops of peppermint extract which consists mostly of alcohol and water, or PG? I tried looking for the amount, couldn’t find it for this particular brand but common percentage is <10%
Also looked up a very common citrus flavour from a reputable flavour company that vapers use, 5 to <10% oil extract from the fruit.
We inhale oil daily, especially when cooking.
