Couldn't hang with the shiny copper so I went at it with a scrubby pad. May play with some hand polishing as well later to see what happens. Can always return to this in a few minutes if I don't like it.

Thanks but it's copper. The brass one I have is going to get the same treatment this weekend. Fingerprint magnets drive me crazy.

Sorry, the pic makes it look obviously brass.
Could be just the lighting or the camera.
I work with metals.
Copper isn't golden. Ever.
It's red.
Pennies are copper.

Could just be the lighting.

Yeah it the cell phone camera under florescent lighting. I'll take a nemesis family picture once I get them all done up for comparison. I'm going to do the same trick to the brass and stainless this weekend. Why not, they are all clones.

Kind of agree with the OP here. Bright and shiny catch the eye but my ocd-ness can't stand fingerprints. A nice brushed look is nice. Those green scrubby pads are rather soft, can they really give that finish to the harder (by comparison to copper or brass) stainless steel?

I got motivated tonight. Here they are all scuffed up. The brass and copper I went over the locking rings afterwards with some metal polish by hand. They are still scuffed but have a little two tone thing going. They look better in person than in the pic. I will stare at them for a while and see what other parts I want to polish and probably them them age like that.

The stainless is perfect, I started that one a while back with some 600 sandpaper on the chrome pieces but wasn't happy with it overall. The greenie took over from there and it came out pretty good, that one is my daily driver. The brass and copper were done all with the greenie.
