I've tried Noalox on mod threads. I don't do that anymore. It didn't extend time between cleaning threads and after a few weeks it gets thick and needs to be cleaned off.

I've also tried it on switch contacts on mech mods and that also isn't working for me.

I've gone completely dry for all contact surfaces and I like that. Seems to me to be the best deal. YMMV.

Anyone using any kind of lubricant on there treads or contacts? i was thinking of using a little bit of Dielectric grease on the threads and contacts on my ZNA thinking it would help with a better contact. Should I use Dielectric grease or Noalox?

I use it on anything with metal threads. Clean it off and redo about every three weeks or so. Makes things screw together smoother.... and also keeps them from seizing...

I use Ox-Gard from Lowes, but only because that's what they sell. Noalox is good stuff also, but it's messier if you get it on your hands. Ox-Gard wipes right off without a stain. There's also a silicone product called Nyogel that's clear and does the job well, also. Its a gel that is designed to prevent oxidation without being conductive. It was the choice of our engineering department for preventing oxidation on low voltage contacts and 220VAC relay contacts as well as AC connections that had history of heat and arc related failure. Air is your enemy with electrical connections.

Less is more when you use any of that stuff. Cover the threads with as little as it takes to put a light coat. It's good enough to dip the tip of a Q-tip in the chemical and hold it on the threads while you turn the device, then wipe it down lightly with a towel. It's not necessary to glob it on.

When I got my ZNA from Mike(ZEN) he told me and gave me a small tube of this..NO-OX-ID "A-SPECIAL" so thats what I use.

I also use the NO-OX_ID "A-SPECIAL" on the threads and contacts on all mods. It stops the oxidation and extends the time before having to clean again. A 2 oz jar of it will last forever as it takes very little to prevent oxidation. I apply it with a tooth pick.
I purchased mine from Ebay.

Don't do it. Dielectric grease does not increase conductivity it just keeps water away. The smart thing to do is clean with a good contact cleaner. The deoxit gold cleans and has an oil that is conductive. People use it on 100 year old vacuum tube pins to bring them back to life.

If your on a budget CRC contact cleaner works about as well for 1/4 the price.
