I've only had my Dark Horse (clone) for a few days. I didn't have a lot of time to put a build on it when it arrived so I just went with simple 2.4mm 24ga duals. It chucks, even with this simple build. Next build will be some big 22ga duals or some twisted 24. Parallels would rock on this thing too. The post holes are absolutely massive. I'd put a lot of wire on it whatever you do and crank the power up. The vape on my build is barely warm at 70W. It's thirsty, that's for sure.

edit: it's really easy to build. Not a bad choice for your first rebuildable. I'd be sure to use 24ga or bigger. 22ga would be ideal. 26ga would do if you twist it. Trapping smaller wire in those massive holes would probably be kind of a pain.

That does look good on there. I cannot wait for mine to get here with my new Panzer Mod!!
According to your wire sizes you mentioned, I am thinking my 29 gauge will be too small?

It'll be a challenge to trap that small wire under the screws in the huge post holes, I would think. Certainly doable but it'll be easier with bigger wire IMO. If you are going to use the 29ga, I'd twist it for sure.

Post holes are plenty big enough to get two legs of twisted 26ga through the positive post with room to spare. I got two twisted 24ga legs through there as well but the coils were too fat for the deck.

Darkhorse came today, my 24 guage gets here on Monday. Found out why 24 would be better, not to trap the wire because my Darh Horse traps the 29 guage well.
I am betting the 24 guage heats up a lot faster than 29 does? Am I right?

Not exactly. The number of wraps will have some to do with heating time, but thinner wire will always heat faster than thick wire of equal length.

24 gauge wire is in!
Wrapped my first coil at .7ohms.
That's quite a bit of flavor and a big throat hit.
What a nicotine buzz!

Lol, what nic are you using? I did one build on mine and think it is way to airy. I too ordered some 24 gauge to try out and if it's still way to much air I will sell it.

Have you tried twisting your 28 gauge?
All you need is about 30 inches of wire, double it over, match the ends, twist several times, and hand tighten in drill chuck. Grab a bent Allen wrench for the other end of the loop so it stays even, and run the drill on slow until the wrap is good and tight.
If you do a mega coil it allows room inside for the cotton with out over packing the cotton.
Rip Tripper is the channel on YouTube. I learned everything I know about coils from him, except what I learned here.
Here is Rip Trippers link on making what he calls Mundy Magic Wire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1F2TkWXl20&list=UUgZd5ygXFoQry9KDGlddSBg
Good luck with it
