Could bad battery be causing burnt taste?

Hey guys. I am very new to vaping, but definitely turning into a regular user very quickly! Currently I'm waiting for my KGO to come in the mail and in the meantime I'm using my NJoy KR808D-1. All throughout the day I noticed that my cartridges were tasting burnt...sooooo nasty!! I just have tried 4 or 5 with my two batteries, but I got the same results each time. I was thinking the batteries went bad (I know that they do after a certain amount of time), but it seems odd that they'd both go bad at the same time, especially when one battery is at least a week older than the other. So my next thought was that I just happened to get a bad batch of cartos. But one of the 5 I tested came from a different bottle than the other 4.

Thoughts?

The General rule of thumb is "If it tastes burnt, that's because it IS burnt." If you use up the juice in the carto, the filler material will be dry enough to burn. At this point, your carto is trash; throw it out (or save it for spare parts if you're at all interested in modding).

My nJoy was a RN4081 model; I don't know if they make a KR808D-1 or not. Cartos are refillable, some easier than others, as long as you refill them before they get burnt.

It's also possible that you may be vaping the juice faster than it can wick to the coil. The coil in the carto will vaporize the juice surrounding it in a very small area and it may take a little time to re-wet that area. Are you constantly vaping to the 8 sec cutoff repeatedly? you may need to slow down a little.

Finally, it is possible that you got a bad batch of cartos.
