I'm only a week into sub ohm. Have a cleito. Really enjoying it.
Using the .4 coil 70/30 vgpg at 42w 6mg nic. Didn't want to go lower as I vape 18mg on my nautilus.
Sometimes it's fine and others every time I inhale it makes me cough. Is it I'm inhaling to long or to short. Around 3-4 seconds. Or is it something else I'm doing wrong.
I take very slow long draws on my nautilus not sure how I should dl properly
Any advice appreciated.

I know when i subohm, I only take 2ish second hits. Thats the only way I don't cough my a-, er, head off. Of course I use 3mg nic at 55w on a .5 ohm clapton coil. So your mileage may vary... :)

Im using Kanger SUBOX Starter, using same as yours 0.5ohm...I can go upto 50 watts...Youre burning at 55....So wont it burn your coil? What machine are you using?

I dunno...I vape 9 nic in a .4-1.2ohm builds in a merlin, subtank or TFV4 and don't cough. Vaping is a technique that has to be mastered different ways with different builds. I only inhale the smaller hits but just mouth vape the large cloud hits. Something else is that you cant inhale like a cig or you will cough, in another way to say it is don't toke your vaporizer. Over heating the vapor is something that will irritate your throat so lower the power and take shorter faster hits so your not inhaling the heat from the coil. Blow down slightly till you see a nice plumb come out the airflow to allow the coil to heat(ramp up) and begin to vaporize the juice properly before you then pull up and have a vape.

I rarely climb above 35 watts on my Subtank Mini 0.5 coils. And I usually start at 25W and work my way up from there on all sub ohms. Also you already got it but slower draws aren't for subtanks.

I actually just filled a tank with 12mg and I realize the only reason I went to 6 was peer pressure. When I make my own juice I'll come back to 6, while I still pay the same per strength I'm buying 12.

And if I cough now it's a good thing, means I got a real nice pull.

if you wana go for 6 then why pay double? buy an 18mg instead, mix with 20ml Pure VG, total 30ml, literally its 6 by then, Saves 3x

Well for one I actually like 12, used it in sub for a solid year. I have a bottle of double flavor 12 that I'll split into 6 but the vendor only offers (1) flavor shot now after 8/8 and I want the flavor to be consistent. No double flavor, no dice.

Idk your brand but to me personally I'll say 12mg is "Holly Grail" to me, Don't know others, Always liked my 12mg B&H...Now vaping 18mg due to the fear of getting cravings over and over, So pre-vaping the nicotine needed on body...I surely know that it wont work, the teqnique and chemicals on ciggs and vaping are not same

Well I'm using an Innokin CoolFire 4 plus with an Innokin iSub Apex tank. My tank can take may different types of coils/atomizers/heads. The coils I first had that came with the tank were regular .5 ohm that could only go up to about 35 watts. I didn't like them so i ordered the .5 ohm clapton coils with let me go up to 70watts on my device. Clapton coils are wrapped differently than normal everyday coils which allow them to use more wattage... and the plus for me is I can just buy them in a pack instead of building my own...

I know what youre talking bout, mine came wid 3 coils aswell, due to the "Building that coil" never used it..With my current coil I can go upto 50 watts, but many said, it can burn the coil and heat up the machine...IDK, anyway, good luck with youre blessed 55 watts :)

I've never gone over 40 watts with any of my builds. I'm vaping a 26/32 .5ohm clapton in a merlin and have it at 30 watts, started at 25 and its a great vape as long as you give the coil time to heat up properly...back to technique. Just a .5ohm regular coil can heat up mighty quickly at 50 watts, like glowing hot in a second or two and if your not hitting that properly you will get a burnt throat and cough from the heat coming off the coil.
So I am assuming a new vaper getting good gear and beginning his journey. Learn to rebuild, its the best vape asset you can have.
