Hi all. What is the coil wire (both types) in the image and what would you recommend as an alternative to the coil wire in the image, especially the outer or flatter profile one. Is there a stainless steel version of this wire?
Has anyone replaced mesh in this way?
Would anyone know if the clamping plates of the Geekvape Zeus X Mesh could accommodate this type of build.
Pretty quizzy about things I guess.
What would the benifits be of doing this be?
Love the "Coil Porn" images.

@Stew1957, the only thing that I can tell you for sure is that looks like a profile style deck which is usaually used with mesh.

But that build looks more like true coil porn and of not much use for vaping, but the idea of using parallel coils is of definite use though. And that coud be done using simple round or flat wire, or clapton type wires.

As you have to factor mass into coil builds. Higher mass uses more power and takes longer to heat up and cool down, lower mass uses less power and takes less time to heat up and cool down.

Airflow is a big factor on the limits that you can go to though, as that's needed for cooling the coil or coils under use. Otherwise things get much too hot and things then tend to burn/overheat.

So you're limited by the atomiser used on what resistance/mass you can build for.

Here's a reasonable site for working out simple coils and hopefully to give you a few ideas at least.

Their coil bulding tools are okay and can help somewhat, but the best advice that I can give you is to just try things and keep notes. As sometimes you don't know what will actually work well for you until you've tried it.
