Love your videos sXd! Your fancy tweezer doodads are a great innovation. While watching, some thoughts crossed my mind.........
Could you remove some of the excess metal from the ends to leave enough room to use them to mount the coil as well?
If we could replace the tweezers with a compass (the drawing a circle kind) we could use the adjustment wheel to clamp the coil in place while bending and mounting?
Like somehow getting the through holes for the rod on the end of this.....
Perfect timing, my Derringer arrived yesterday. I washed it last night and saw this first thing this morning before I started to build. Thanks, S_X_D, you have, once again, been a great help.
What about the ceramic tweezers with the removable tips? They have the screw holes there already, wonder if you could drill them out a bit to hold the pin and coil. I only have one pair, but just wondering looking at them if that might work?
I make my bends with a large needle, which is held in a pin vise. The kanthal goes through the eye of the needle. Give the pin vise a twist, at the desired point, and it makes perfect bends.

I haven't figured out how to post a picture yet with my iPad, and the new software. But the needle I use is probably about 1.5mm. I don't know what it's called. But it has a large eye, and the diameter of the needle makes for nice sharp bends.
