I use around 0.2-0.3 with 24Gauge 2.0-2.5mm coils for my mech mod. I find anything 0.5 or higher just takes too long to heat up. Anything 0.5 or higher I just vape on my vv/vw devices.

For my 40w VV/VW box mods i just build anything 0.2-0.7ohms, build doesn't really matter as much as RDA/Airflow for vapor production in vv/vw mods because you can adjust watts/volts, at least from my experience, im sure there are others who will disagree. I like vaping at 0.2-0.3 most of the time though, I might grab me a sigelei 100-150w just to see how the vape is at higher than 40W with 0.7ohm+ coils.

You can get just as good of clouds at 0.5 on a Reo Grand. There is no reason to build low and push 23 amps from a battery with a build as low as 0.18 ohms is.
If you use a regulated mod like an IPV3 you can get the same clouds at 1.2 ohms and 30 or so watts.

in my experience, the gauge of the wire/resistance makes a difference in taste. I started with 28gauge and 1.0+ coils and I just didn't get good flavor. Vapor production might keep up but the flavor whether it be how the wire heats up or something else, I have been getting better flavor with 22-24gauge for some reason. Also use 30amp rated batteries, those can handle low ohms.

Plus, I find lower gauge wire less springy, and will hold form more than higher gauge wire. Easier to build with.
