I smoked Marlboro Light forever. I found that HHV Dark Horse is fairly close and satisifies really well.

DH is somewhat of a similar juice to TPRs Marlboro type. Both of those could be adequate, though not spot on, choices. You could also try Tampa from Vapor Station. It is not a natural tobacco, but I have learned to appreciate the artificial, almost chemically flavored juices, as more like the feel of cigarettes. Don't get me wrong, I do not mean to cast dispersion on VS as being "chemical;" as a matter of fact, I like it and think they achieved their goal. The thing is, cigarettes don't generally (at least the common western variety) have much of a flavor necessarily, though they do have a taste. Most NETs are going to have all type of discernible notes and flavors that will send you reeling and trying to figure out the best way to describe the experience. Tampa is a simple analog replacement juice.

Try a little bottle of DeKang SEC/Kent. It's the closest thing I've tried to a light ciggy and it's cheeeep (it does have a tad of a sweet note). It's still my main vape when working...intertwined with coffee, choco, fruity, etc. stuff. But, as gthompson pointed out, there is no e-liquid that really tastes like a burning cig so make sure you point that out in advance so there is no unreasonable expectation. You could word it like "you find something similar that satisfies you...you might even end up liking it more". For me, it was more about something that didn't jump in my face with some over-the-top flavor but still had a substantial throat hit so I got the sensation of smoking.

Well stated and essential reading for those on an analog clone search.

I smoked Marlboro Ultralights for years and the closest I have found myself is the MadHatter from Maddcatt. It reminds me of the taste of the cigarette before it was lit, not after. As always, this is all based on what you think. We can give suggestions but really, the thing i would recommend is try each in small "sample" sizes and then find out if they fit it. It's what I ended up doing.

Another great point. The smell of a fresh pack of smokes IS attainable!

Don't just buy him one juice. In my experience, there's a 75% or greater chance that he won't like it. You've got a much better shot at finding something he likes by buying 4 or 5 different ones.

Also, and I've written this many times before, many of us thought we wanted something that "tasted" like a cigarette; yet, I think what we were really looking for was something that simulated the feel and experience of smoking a cigarette even though the taste was not the same or even close. For me, a good Ry4 is that juice. Most of the good ones I've tried are neutral tasting - slightly sweet but no "in your face" flavor - and provide the throat hit that simulated the experience of smoking a cigarette.

And don't forget that many of us have a favorite juice (or several of them) that we stumbled onto by pure, blind luck, which we never thought we would like. For example, I really like 555 tobacco juices because I enjoy the nutty taste. I would have NEVER intentionally tried a nutty tasting juice. Luckily, a 555 was included in a sample pack I bought, and I discovered that I really liked that flavor profile.

Conversely, I have found that I don't care so much for many of the flavors (mainly sweets and bakery flavors) that I thought I would like. You will find a LOT of people in that same boat, so don't assume you know what your dad will ultimately like or dislike.

I am still in the process of quiting Marlboro Ultra-Lights however, vaping has help me cut back alot!

Shoot, I am only a little over a month into this but finding the right one is key. I took the advice of others here and started buying small 5-7 ml bottles from vendors.

I just found my new favorite and that is Halo Turkish Tobacco, man it's yummy and the best I have found to replace the urge for a real smoke so far. Everyone says the same, taste is subjective, but I recommend this one and tribeca from them as well.

I look at it like this, It costs me $52.00 a carton for Ultra Lights, I can get a lot of small trial size bottles from different vendors for $52.00! And while I am on the quest to quit regular smokes, it's worth every penny to spend that money to at least reduce my habit until I am free from them.

Just keep trying until you find the one that YOU like...

I was a Marb ultra light smoker and the most similar I found to ultra lights is FSUSA (Freedom Smoke USA) 7Leaves. I also have there RY4 steeping and wanting to try that next. It is all personal preference and everybodies taste buds are different. What works for one may not work for others. I have found a few other tobacco blends I like, but 7Leaves is really the only one so far I would vape daily. I like FSUSA because you can order it in any PG/VG ratio and nicotine strength you want, most other brands your stuck with there house blend. For me 60/40 at 12 mg is perfect and most resembles a Marb ultra light. I have since switched to DIY because its cheaper, but I still stick with the same ratio and nic strength. There was some trial and error in figuring out what worked for me. There are many other brands/tobacco blends I want to try, but as for right now 7Leaves is my daily vape. Plus, 7Leaves is very receptive to mixing in other flavors. I like to add vanilla or carmel every now and then to mix it up. Most other tobacco blends I have tried are to overpowering and I cannot taste the flavor additions. I agree with everybody else to order a few different brands/blends or sampler packs. There are so many out there and eventually you will find something that suits you. Hope this helps!
Also, I do agree with SkyHawk..Halo Turkish tobacco is really good. That is my second fav so far. I will be adding that in my rotation when I want a little more kick. Well see how the FSUSA RY4 is in a few days.

Well HiBrn8r, if that's the case, I will give 7Leaves a try also! :smokie:

Are there any similarities between them?

SkyHawk... I have tried Halo Turkish and Tribeca also. For me, 7leaves is similar to an ultra light. I smoked those daily so this best suits me. Light and smooth. Turkish has more tobacco flavor, still smooth, stronger..but not harsh. Kinda like a Marb light or camel turkish blend. Tribeca has more tobacco flavor and kinda on the harsh side for me. I did like the flavor, but was too harsh for me. I would say like a Marb red (cowboy killer lol). All were the same nic strength 12 mg, the only difference is 7Leaves is 60/40, while Halo I believe is 70/30. Right now, 7Leaves is my daily and Turkish gets thrown in a couple times a week. I find them both smooth, but Turkish has more flavor when I want some extra kick. Again, I like to add some vanilla or carmel evey now and then, 7Leaves blends well with these. I tried the same with Turkish and it required much more flavoring for them to come thru. Hope this helps, I'm still a bit of a noob and my taste buds are still recovering from quiting real cigs.

I smoked Marlboro Lights for decades. Yet, today, I don't remember exactly how they taste. I'd have to light up the one that's been sitting here for the past several months. I like Dark Horse by Heather's Heavenly Vapor. I also like Huntsmen. They are most similar to a cig, I guess. The good taste from a cig and none of the bad taste from a cig.

If your Dad even wants to quit cigs and start vaping, he will have the motivation to adjust, just as if he was switching brands of cigs.

I've found three that I really enjoy, that give me the smoking experience without the over the top flavors that throw me off. Many of the tobacco flavors are either too sweet, or two cigar/pipe like for me.

My favorite vape right now is Dark Horse from HHV (ironically, everyones favorite, Gandalf, I can't stand). I also like GI Goe from Aroma E-Juice, but it is a WTA, and quite expensive. As soon as they have a higher nic level, I'm going to try it's non WTA brother, Winson. And I like The Vapor Rooms 555, with an extra flavor shot. Switching between those three keeps me happy. Will try Huntsman from HHV soon, I think it's a stronger Dark Horse
