It's just sad when the average income in your country is 300$ per month, and every coil costs 10$. I just ordered 5 CCELL coils. I'm gonna use clear juice. If the 5 coils don't last more than 300ml, I might quit vaping.

Now if that was the case, I'd be dunking coils in alcohol all the time. Best of luck to you.

I would suggest getting some unflavored juice and trying that. If you're just wanting/needing to vape and want your coils to last a LONG time, unflavored is perfect.

Maybe get some 50 or 70% VG (depending on the coils you're using), and vape away. Not only is unflavored juice extremely inexpensive compared to flavored, I can get at least a month out of most premade coils I've used in the past. That was using it as my primary daily tank as well.

I typically would put around 480ml of unflavored juice through it before having to replace the coil. Many times, the coil still doesn't taste bad, it may need to be replaced because the cotton starts to lose it's wicking capabilities and also starts to leak.

Personally, I vape for the nicotine, couldn't care less about flavors for the most part. I experiment with using flavored juices every 6 months or so, but always end up back on unflavored pretty quickly. I actualy like it at this point. The fact that coils last forever and it's cheap compared to flavored juice are just bonuses.

You know, I've bought lower quality e-liquids before (gas station, convenience store, etc) when I had a dire need. While they didn't taste too bad, by the time I got through 1 or 2 bottles, my coil tasted burned and was shot.

Part of the problem may be the quality of e-liquid you are getting as well.

Honestly though, if you can get unflavored, I think you will see a big difference.

If you're on a low budget, you should probably consider switching to rebuildable. The materials required to build good quality coils are really inexpensive, the only real cost is buying the right tools for this, but you can probably manage using tools you already have

Short answer: I did clean coils starting out with varying degrees of success. I wound up deciding it wasn't worth it as a) they tended to have unpredictable life and I would neve know when it would die again, unpredictably, and burn a tank full of juice between 24--48 hours later and b) I wasn't really sure how well they were getting "cleaned."

I think it's probably okay to clean some of them. How much extra life will be debatable.

If you can move to rebuilding it may be less expensive for you and I found with more rebuildable tanks in my arsenal, keeping the drop in coil tanks I REALLY liked, and since I'm using them not 100% of the time and rotating setups, my coil life has improved OVERALL because my tanks aren't overheating. I do like RTAs and even take some out of the house (now) but there will probably always be at least a FEW drop in tanks in my arsenal, unless the vaping hammer descends.

There is a learning curve with rebuildables so I'm glad you are asking about it on another thread and etc, as if you can get going with rebuildables it should help your coil costs considerably.

I might try unflavored to see if you like it, at least in your drop in coils, it should extend their life considerable, although I consider chain vaping in VW mode to be equally a coil killer due to increased heat in the tank (obviously, this too can vary and depend on a lot of factors) but it's good to have backups, so you may want to keep this tank "in service" so to speak.

Best of luck, I don't know much about cleaning ceramic other than a vague idea that it's not a good idea. Etc.

Best of luck,

Anna

It's been a Long Time since I used Coil-Heads. But when I did, I looked at Cleaning them as having a "Half-Life".

By that I mean that if a New Coil-Head would last say 10 Days before it needed to be cleaned, then after Cleaning it I would get about 5 Days out of it before it needed to be Cleaned again. And then I would only get a Few Days of good hits from it before it needed another Clean. And that clean Wouldn't really do all that much.

So Cleaning did work, and it did Extend the Time before a Coil-Head needed to be tossed. But No Technique/Method of Cleaning, and I tried Many, would bring them back all the way to Factory New lifespan-wise.
