Charging ITaste VV (Please help a newb)

I have been smoking for years and finally got an e-cig a week ago. It is an ITaste vv that I ordered from Amazon, the Express Kit. And I went to my local smoke shop and they picked out a cart (still not up on the terms) and filled it for me with tobacco-flavored juice at 16 mg nicotine. I haven't smoked a regular cigarette since (it's been about three days?).

But my question is in the store the guy turned it on for me and I haven't turned it off since I've had it. I click the button for a hit, and it's always been green. Just today it's finally started to be orange after having and using it for three days when I press the button. So I've plugged the cord it came with into my laptop, but how long do I leave it there? And should I not plug it in until it's entirely dead (red)?

I'm so sorry for the stupid questions. I am doing my best to read the threads here, but it's hard to search since I don't know the words to look for.

ETA: Also, is it detrimental to the battery life if I vape while it's charging?

Innokin iTaste V3 owners manual: iTaste VV V3.0 User Manual - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin

LED Battery Indicator:
The iTaste VV battery utilizes an advanced capacity display via green, yellow and red LED lights. Users will know the battery’s capacity via the color of the LED Button.
The LED lights will show green, yellow or red to indicate full battery life, half capacity or charging needed.

ON/OFF Battery Switch:
Quickly clicking three times will power the device on or off. Once the device is on, holding down the button will activate the battery. This safety feature prevents the atomizer from turning on while it's in your pocket or bag, as well as inadvertent settings changes.

Passthrough:
The iTaste VV is charged through a Micro USB Port. You can recharge it with any standard MicroUSB cable. It can also work as a pass-through device for simultaneous vaping and charging.

LED Light Blinking Mode:
The LED light will blink in different colors to indicate the current battery voltage

1. Red LED light = battery voltage lower than 3.6V
2. Yellow LED light = battery voltage between 3.6V and 3.7V
3. Green LED light = battery voltage more than 3.7 V
4. Red LED will keep blinking for eight seconds when battery capacity is lower than 3.3V, after which the device will turn off automatically.

CHARGING the ITASTE VV:

The color of the LED light indicates the remaining battery life. After fully recharged, the LED lights will cut-off .

I charge my V3 every night before bed as I have read these batteries like to be topped off. Yours is amber now as a warning that the battery is getting low. When it is charging the light will illuminate green until it is fully charged which at that point the light turns off. Because it is a passthrough, you can still vape while it charges it will just take a little longer to charge. Hope this helps and congrats on quitting smoking! I was able to quit using the V3 as well and it has been over 3 weeks. You can do it!

Sweet Baby Jeebus, that thread is 119 pages. lol But I'm gonna read it all. I hate bothering people and I feel bad that I posted this - I just didn't know how exactly to look/search for this info.

Thank you, love. Peace to you and thank you for the guidance.

From what I've been reading, I understand that you're kind of like a rockstar on here. The fact that you've responded to me makes me want to dance. :p

Thank you SO much for the info.

Thank you so much for the encouragement and the response. While searching has been difficult for me, I HAVE been reading threads and what I've found is that people are helpful and cheerleaders out the wazoo and just all-around encouraging to newbs here. It makes me smile, and I am deeply grateful for all of you for not laughing at me and for helping instead. Seriously, can't explain how grateful I am. Thanks for the tips on what you do. **hugs**

ETA: Also, like I said, I've never turned it off. I also don't take it in my car or out of the house. It's just here on my desk. Do I need to turn it off when I'm sleeping or don't plan on using it for a while? It's been "on" since I bought it.

There's really no need to turn your battery off. It becomes activated only when the on switch is pressed.

I think the only reason to turn it off is so it doesn't fire unintentionally if the button gets pressed accidentally, which isn't likely to happen if it's just sitting on your desk. I do take mine with me many places, but I never turn it off. I also charge it daily, whether it needs it or not. ;)

i also just got an itaste vv express. i was told i can plug in to my usb port - BUT i have an older 500 ma output usb on my mac. the battery runs at 800 ma. so.... i don't think i can plug in to my usb - correct? my understanding is that you can use a higher ma for the charging port but not lower than the device.

That should be fine...altho some think it's not great to risk a motherboard to charge a battery. My ego charger I use for mine is 500mA and works fine.

The 800mAh for the battery indicates the capacity mostly, doesn't mean you need that for charging.
