Vision Spinner 1300
eGo/eGo-T/eGo-C USB Wire Charger

Spinner flashes 14-15 times = Needs charged

Attach charger to Spinner, plug charger into USB
Spinner LED flashes 3 times and then remains on
Led on charger is red momentarily and then stays solid green

At this time I've only the one charger so I can't test Spinner on another one.
I get the same behavior regardless if I turn the Spinner off or leave it on when attempting to charge

At this time the charger has been plugged in for about 30 minutes and it's LED has remained solid green.

The charger LED staying solid green seems to be wrong so the question is this, is the charger unit actually charging or is it perhaps not working properly?

Sounds like the connection aren't making contact. Two things - the battery center post might have to be 'pulled up'. Easy does it - you don't want to break any of the internal connections....

Center Pin Issue - Fixing a non firing eGo battery - YouTube

Or the connections on the charger is gunked up. Disconnect from electrical source... take some isopropyl alcohol and a Qtip and clean the center post and ring around it. Sometimes a toothpick between the post and rings helps but don't dig out the silicone.

Both units are new. First time using the charger, Spinner has perhaps 2 or 3 hours usage.
I'd been using 510 atomizers in the Spinner, never cranked down.

So ya think the battery center post may be fine for the atomizers but too low for the charger?

But you agree the charger LED behavior isn't normal?

No... not normal. Vision spinners unlike Joye eGo's have their button led turn on when charging but the charger light should go red once the connection is made. Otherwise it stays green, which is why I don't think a connection is being made. If the charger was dead it wouldn't light any color ;) So unless there's a disconnection within the charger itself - possible - then the connections between the battery and charger aren't being made. I just suggested the most common problems that could make that happen.

And yes, I've seen it where the battery post is good for attys/clearos and not for the charger and visa versa.

If they're real new (within warranty) I'd contact the vendor if you can't get them up and running.

It's also possible that the center post in the charger needs pulled up but again carefully and disconnect first.

New yesterday so I've submitted a request for an RA for a replacement rather than try pulling at the posts.
Also ordered a couple of the same chargers and an Evod battery from a different vendor. Those will be probably arrive before I get the RA number! Give me a few more options to play with should further troubleshooting be needed (-:

I see this all the time with visions at work. Doa, don't know why it happens

I was convinced that the charger was at issue, not the Spinner.

When I first received the order I started by putting the Spinner on to charge. Got the above described behavior and as they were both new I figured the Spinner had come fully charged. I was able to use the Spinner for almost a full day, all functions worked without issue.

In as much as the Spinner LED does light and stay lit when connected to the charger an electrical connection between the two is being accomplished but the charger doesn't get it in gear.

Does that make sense?

All I know is we stopped carrying spinners after this happening all the time. Throw one spinner on the charger, nothing. Throw it in the graveyard, grab another, works fine.
Naturally I am not there so these are only assumptions

Can't you just put a multimeter on the charger? Or a test light?

...
Well r77, just wanted to let you know I appreciate you providing me with a well deserved duh moment (-:

Multi shows the charger giving a solid 4.2DCV just as it's supposed to. Vendor agreed the Spinner is more than likely at fault so it's goin' back.

Thanks!

Another crazy question: Does the spinner batteries have a "low voltage" cutoff circuitry, or will it keep hitting on the battery and drive it below the Li Ion "you killed me" voltage?

Google search comes up with this (I bet it would have come up with forum search too)

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gotvapes/386930-vision-spinner-problems-2.html#post8797009 <- description of fix...might be juice got down into the battery compartment???

the spinner works the same way. the switch is press fitted into the body.
you can gently separate the head from the body with a device that screws onto the ego threads, like a cone, clearo, or emdcc. rock it out very very gently. wipe up any juice, align the button if it has become dislodged, check for any snapped wires, etc. there is a good chence it can be salvaged.
also, no one has mentioned this yet and im sure the OP has done this, but just in case...make sure to charge the spinner for 3+ hours. this is on the fast charger. if youve got the slow charger, youre looking at a hefty charge time. it might be as simple as that. the blinking light is the signal of the start of the charge cycle. if the batt is not wet inside, its just in need of a charge IMO. thats the way the story sounds from the info given by the OP.

POW...vids on how to fix this

Darn WarHawk, and here I thought I'd done my due diligence on the Spinner. Goes to show how important a properly worded search can be, I didn't come up with hardly any of the threads that your query found!

Here's hoping the replacement Spinner I get went through QC on a good day!!

My Google Fu is STRONG!
