A while back someone was looking for a black rda and someone pointed him to this site:

Best Rebuildable Atomizer Tanks - Get Kanger Atomizers - Nimbus Tank

Scroll down and you can see some Black rda's who's top caps have been coated black. I looked up Cerakote and this page comes up:

Cerakote Coatings

So how safe is this stuff? It's good enough for the heat of a gun and even has some chemical tests thrown at it. Seems like e-liquid+heat wouldn't cause it to break down...

I'm guessing it's good enough for an RDA top cap. I want to get "Safety Orange" color from a local applicator with maybe 2nd color accents. What do you guys think? Anyone want to find their local applicator and report back for science? Any initial impressions on the safety or is it known safe? These colors are tempting...I might chicken out and just get a mod coated instead of an RDA cap.

It's pretty toxic stuff and you definitely DON'T want to risk ingesting a piece of it even after it's fully cured. I've worked with it on occasion being a gunsmith and the stuff should never be used anywhere near food or food prep because it can cause kidney failure.

Try reading the MSDS sheets on the various components...

I will say though, it is a great coating on firearms. I have their graphite black on an AR-10 and it's outstanding.

My suggestion to you would be to look into powder coating. It's tough as hell, holds up well to heat, and has been around long enough for people to know if it's going to make your ba11s fall off if you ingest some. lol.
