Can you wrap a sub ohm micro coil?

At first I found that I couldn't go as low with a micro as I was used to with regular coils (~0.6Ω). The micros get way hotter, and that just made it too intense. Also, it had a tendency to caramelize the juice in my dripper. The heat, I resolved by enlarging the air hole. (only to 1.4mm, not too big). The juice issue was resolved when I finally got to gooseboxin' on the REO. Now, mostly I'm doing 0.5Ω micros with 8 wraps of 26g Nichrome (= 25g Kanthal) in the RM2 atty.

Oh, that's wrapped on a 1/16" drill bit, like dufftime suggested.

here's a pic.

Hey, Kemosabe. I fold the wire over a small drill bit (1/32 or 3/64) then roll it up like a burrito. I really only do that on my 0.5Ω coils. Above that resistance, just the normal wicking is plenty. (I could probably get away with not using it on the point fives, but I like it . . . . extra juicy, no dry hits when I pull a PBusardo)

Dude I like it a lot. Thanks. I'm trying it. I haven't gone sub ohm yet but this is how I'm gonna do it. I'm also gonna try subs on a genny too. Probably micro that as well seeing how its a AGT and the wick hole isn't too large.

I'm going to try it with duel wires to increase coil length and shorten the legs on my 804s. I usually wrap for ~1.5 ohms and my 1/4 in. coil gets pulled apart slightly unless I lengthen the legs a little. Looks easy enough to try. Thanks for posting. :vapor:

A lass. 32ga (all I have) is just to small to work with, even after flaming to remove some of the springyness. It did make me have a thought though (rare for me). I just pulled the coils apart in the center a little which helped keep them from spreading apart all along the coil. Oh well, it was fun trying anyways.
